Good story on who? Who is Cody Zeller? Is he that kid, that plays for Butler?

FL Sycamore, did you willfully and knowingly post this on Sycamore Pride, or were you sleep typing (formerly known as sleep walking) and thought you were on another universities sports message board?

I'm guessing the start of this topic, was all an accident. Accidents do happen. Right? Cuz personally, I don't give two shakes about Cody Zeller. He ain't a part of what I'm about, or what most people are about, on this ISU sports messaging board.

Cody Zeller....WTF, who dat? FCZ.

We do talk about other schools on this section of the board.I'm an ISU fan but I am a fan of sports in general too. This is a great story about an Indiana kid who stayed in Indiana and sounds like a great kid from a wonderful family.Someone to root for as long as he's not playing ISU.

IMHO, This kid has no business being a subject on a SYCAMORE board. There is one at iu, go there...

just this OF"S opinion.......

Now I am no person to ever defend IU but under the rules he is in the right section. Don't want to read it? Dont open it. Not trying to be the Debbie downer here, just adding perspective.

I'm curious about this. Did we recuit and make an offer or ignore him and similar talents because we fell we don't stand a chance of getting them?

I thought we probably send out lots and lots of letters and get responses from kids that are interested.

It does no good to waste a lot of time on players that have no interest.

I imagine we did not do ANYTHING. Not a rub, by any means but Cody is flat out an exceptional talent that rarely comes along and I am not saying that he would not have been a great addition to the Tree's but frankly he is right up there with Steve Alford or Damon Bailey and it would be a waste of resources unless there was a connection somehow. I may be way off, though. Did we go after Gunner Kiel? Not likely. Same scenario.

That's what I expected to hear. It's logical. But what could it hurt to send a letter saying you project to be the impact player that could turn a program around? I know, it's very unlikely to even get a response. We might get a good look-see from one blue chip player out of 1,000 in a period of years, but that is one more than we would get if we didn't send the letter. To me it seems that just getting a kid like that to make an official visit we could use that as a recruiting tool.

SP, that is an interesting question. If it wasn't for Larry Bird, I am sure that most would say no to that question but I imagine an optimistic approach would be why not? He came here. Safe to say, in this collegiate sport environment, that likely would never happen again. Those were different times to say the least. In fact, indirectly, Larry is partially responsible for the change, wouldn't you say?

Dear Debbie Downer,

Yes, the topic is in the right section, I never said it wasn't.

If someone "Doesn't want to read it, don't open it." That's correct too.

I DIDN'T open it. However, no one on here can keep from reading what the topic is. It's just what we do. We see words, and we read them. And if I don't like the topic, I will let my opinion be known.

Are you now the Moderator Assistant in training of Ye Olde Sycamore Pub? I thought you were the fulltime Football moderator?

P.S. Don't you have something else to do with your free time once in awhile like, helping some old ladies cross the street, or organizing a Den meeting to swear in some Cub Scouts with the Cub Scout Promise, or a good deed to do somewhere, just anywhere but here!!!

God, what do you do sometimes before you get on here, take the Sycamore Pride Oath?

I, Dgreenwell3, promise
to DO MY BEST
To do my DUTY to Sycamore Pride
And to my University whom I owe allegiance too
To HELP other defenseless bloggers, and
To OBEY the LAW of the OFC.

Did moderate the section? No. Did I change any posts? No. Dont you have something else to do other than follow me around constantly commenting on my posts?
On another hand taking it a little too seriously...

Go ahead and post IU stuff on here. Anytime someone mentions IU on here people FREAK out...like they are an actual rival or something. IU and ISU rarely meet in recruiting battles or on the floor, and whether you like it or not there are many fans on here from Terre Haute who are fans of both. With them not being in the same conference or recruiting the same kids I dont see why this is such an issue. This is the off topic board right?

It amazes me the TRUE hate that many on here have for IU. I wasn't really that excited about reading the thread on Cody but I certainly feel that it is within the rules to do it. I do follow IU and I have no problem admitting it on here ( I have several times). As I also stated before, I am from out of state so I don't have the history that some of you have on here but I was disappointed they lost tonight and I watched almost the whole game. I would never root for them against the Trees and have screamed loudly at ALL the games we beat them in the last decade (and have been there), but some of your hate shown to IU on here never ceases to amaze me. I have attended many IU football games and enjoy the atmosphere and Nick's afterward but I also have worn BLUE at every game we have played and have been at every one as I will be the next three years.

I know where my loyalty lies and anyone who contributes something IU also has the same feeling. ISU Blue all the way, but it is not a capitol offense to root for Cream and Crimson as well.

For those defening iu.......................................................they lost....................................at gloomington..........................

to MINNESOTA..........................................what a shame.................................
