It's great that people are fired up or like Greg Couch's column on the resurgence of the Indiana State football program. But unless there are fannies in the seats at Memorial Stadium on Saturday afternoon and the rest of the season and on into next season, it's just a flash moment.

Show up and see the team play. Buy a ticket.

I'm There

My wife and I are heading down from West Lafayette Saturday morning -- would love to bring a few thousand "Boilermaker" fans, but of course they won't come.
Hope to see 12,000 + ISU folks there !

I guess my main point is.....

if you liked/loved Couch's column, appreciated everything that he wrote, then show your support for the team (as much for what they've accomplished this year and over the past four seasons) on Saturdays. Especially this Saturday.

It's one thing to say, 'Oh, how nice. Good story.' And it's another thing to actually show up, buy a ticket, actually GO INSIDE THE STADIUM AND SIT DOWN, and support the team before, during and after the game.

Show your support for this senior class, who are the foundation of the turnaround. Yell like crazy for Ryan Roberts, Alex Sewell, Rod Hardy, and all the other seniors.

OK

Just sent a mass email to my whole school system (we have lots of ISU folks) telling them to wear Blue tomorrow and inviting them to show up in Terre Haute Saturday for Homecoming.
Everyone on this forum ..............do the same to friends, co-workers, etc

With over 100 brothers in our tent on Saturday, I pledge to work the crowd hard to get 90% in the stadium. My guess is that most will go in any way but every body helps. As I said a couple of weeks ago when we were discussing whether or not we could hit 10,000 on Saturday, get HALF of the people in the lot INSIDE the stadium and we hit that 10K mark easily. Sunny and the mid-60's will certainly help draw more as well. Game on~

Good call - one major problem I foresee - HUGE HUGE HUGE line at the boxoffice Saturday afternoon. This could pose a major problem and discourage people from going in...they should have students walking around selling them in Tent City to alleviate the congestion. Assume 3,000 people have advanced tickets...we think there may be 10,000 people there (very possible) - That's several thousand they have to sell THAT DAY in two small ticket booths.

Just thinking ahead to what I hope ISN'T a major problem but has the potential to be.

And hopefully they have the credit card machine(s) working. I went to the YSU game and had to run to the BP on the corner....the credit card machine (singular) was broken, and the closest ATM was at the gas station.

To avoid such issues.....get your tickets EARLY!!!!.....and stop at the ATM....

BEFORE you get to Memorial Stadium.....plan for the worst and expect the best......

And very few people would go to a BP for that...again they make it DIFFICULT to be a fan!!! It's, simply put - insane.:krazy:

I'm driving 800 miles to Anderson Thursday, then another 110 to TH Sat. for the game and then will stay for the CC meet on Sunday, so count me in!

First Financial has that mobile ATM van, I would think they will have it there for homecoming...at least. And yes, they should have people selling them...wouldn't be a bad idea to have a little table in the alumni tent selling tickets for convenience.

Also like the parking idea...parking is $10 and includes one ticket or something like that...of course in the future. But it makes sense and no one would complain about it, I wouldn't think...parking free with a student id (since it is free for students to go to the game). I can live with that.

I liked someone's idea of giving away an XBox or something. How about a raffle where they charge $1 per ticket, get a sponsor and give away a choice of TV or Game Console or something like that 3 or 4 times per game. That would interest more students and maybe ensure we could get them in at kickoff and back in after halftime ect.
