I agree with you in theory that you want to save those moments for very rare occasions (like winning the regular season championship) but......

I am just glad to see so many students and so much enthusiasm, so I won't criticize, I will just sit back and enjoy it.:)
 
It is what it is.... and what it is, is over! They did it and really what else are you going to say/do about it? You can't renig on it...

They were excited, it was an amazing finish. Let me say this much, with as much pub and build up this game had you could cut the tension with a knife all not long. Them kids, hell the entire place had built up energy - they wanted to let it out and they did!
 
I mean I'm a student here and I was freaking shaking at the end of the game...Guess I just have better basketball IQ than most students...lol GO STATE!!!!!!

heck who cares! when was the last time ISU students rushed the floor? the win over Purdue? Let'em celebrate! good for them!
 
I first off want to say kudos to the students. Hell of a showing. Most of them just milled around outside after the game they were so excited.

Secondly, Im not sure they would have if the finish wasn't the way it was. If we win by 5 or more, I don't think they rush the court. Of course they did, and I say who cares!
 
Don't have a problem with it as long as that's not the only thing that keeps them coming back to the game. You won't be rushing the court every night. I think it's cool though. Show that emotion and fire.
 
We're going to send them ALL to detention. Detenion will commence at the Ballyhoo Thursday afternoon starting at 5:00pm EST.

True Blue had a good point--the kind of finish to the game was a factor. A 10 point win would have been totally different. The close game with a great finish for the Sycamores should bring them back in droves.

We constantly complain about the lack of student support and tonite we had a TON so I won't complain about the court rushing. Was it a little to much? Yes, but it was a big win and it will just keep the students pumped about this team and season. We wanted them at the game and at least for tonite they showed up in groves...lets not blast them for being excited.
 
I didn't mind the rushing of the court. Like SSOM said, you could cut the tension in HC tonight with a knife. It was an exciting win, so let the kids have their fun. No harm...

What darn near brough a tear to my eye was as the students were walking back to their section they were chanting loudly (and proudly) "I-S-U! I-S-U! I-S-U!" We haven't seen school pride exhibited like that in a decade. I was very proud of our students.

Now, if they just don't forget to show up at the next game...:bigsmile:
 
Hell, we bitch about lack of student involvement, we get, what over 2,000 of them and had a game like that, good for them!!!! Hell if I was there this OF would had been with them!!!

The students rushed the court because of the type of game that it ended up being. The game had been sold as a "mega bowl" to all of the students the entire week. Throw in some of the worst officiating ever witnessed and you get students rushing the court.

not ridiculous at all.....ISU picked 7th in Mo Val, ugly losses early......we bomb on students for not showing up....the ISU and local community show up in force and create an arena environment we have been begging for...we beat a team that hasnt lost in conference, with road wins at Witchita, Creighton and Northern Iowa....ISU has been told they havent played anyone yet, that they were living off the poor sisters of the MVC, we fight and take their best punches like a prize fight and we come out on top....I bet people would have been negative about the students not doing it if they hadnt. Lighten up Francis......


Now if they rush the court vs Evansville next week...Ill complain....but today Ill gloat....

As long as we keep winning and we get 7,000 plus fans and 2,000 plus students they can rush the floor after every game for all I care! For once the HC had a big time D1 atmosphere!
