I certainly hope so... it's supposed to be the "front door" of ISU, right? I would HOPE that they make the western facade a great design/presentation.

Have to admit, ISU looks a helluva lot better today than mid-80s

Right you are. Now when I recall the mid-60s, it' is a totally different place.

For the better? or...

From what I've heard, the new SoB (Federal Hall) and SoE (University Hall) are pretty damn nice. Hope they did as good or better job with the "old library"

I have visited both Halls. I don't know what you have herd about them, but they are treasures for ISU. A couple of years ago a friend and I saw University Hall (they called it the Lab School in my time) when we arrived early for a baseball game. We were very impressed. The transformation from the 1960's to the present was unbelievable. Indiana State got it right this time! Federal Hall appeared to be very nice also, but I was just able to step inside very briefly. I hope they can work the same magic on the old library.

Everything I heard was good stuff. Sad that the "original" Reeve Hall was razed in the late 80s or early 90s... one of the few buildings that truly LOOKED like a college building... gargoyles will make that happen! Wonder if ISU was smart enough to keep some of the gargoyles?

Excellent question! We can only hope.

Normal Hall (the old library) is absolutely stunning. It's worth a trip to campus just to see it. I cannot come up with a good enough adjective to describe that building!

The COB in Federal Hall is spectacular as is the COE in the old Lab school. As for the gargoyles, at one time the alumni office had concrete replicas produced as well as the plaques displaying different fields of study that were on Reeves Hall. This was a number of years ago.

Always appreciate the little insider tidbits you share.

Thanks Jason. It's a shame that Alumni Affairs/Foundation isn't more creative in offering unique items to alumni. I'm not sure of the cost of the gargoyle(s) but the "fresco's were in the $100. range. They are unique and would be a proud keepsake for alumni. Look at GoSycamores.com and try and find anything historic or inspirational. It's not there. How many cups, pens and shirts can one own? With a lifetime membership (Blue Card Club) to the Alumni Association, why not offer an engraved 4"x8" commemorative brick. They cost around $30. Build an additional $100. or more into the cost of membership. I realize there are commemorative bricks by the Trike facility, but shouldn't they be displayed in a better location for all to see? Maybe with the renovation of Hulman Center something like that will be offered.
