SYCAMORES ‘ON THE ROAD’ COACHES CARAVAN DEBUTS JULY 18 IN PLAINFIELD
The Indiana State Sycamores are hitting the road this summer for the first-ever Sycamores “On The Road” Coaches Caravan, as announced this afternoon by Director of Athletics Sherard Clinkscales. The free event will be held on Monday, July 18 at The Coachman Restaurant in Plainfield, Ind., and runs from 6-8 p.m. (ET).
“This event is something we talked about during my interview process and is a new idea to rally Sycamore fans in the Indianapolis area,” Clinkscales said. “One of the best ways to grow support for our program is for fans to see and interact with our coaches in person. Our main goal right now is to build excitement for upcoming season. In order to get our brand out there, we have to go to our fans and show them that we care about them and that we want them to support us. This event is a great way to connect with Sycamores across the state.”
Featured at the event will be Sycamore head coaches Greg Lansing, Mike Sanford, Mitch Hannahs and Joey Wells as well as Clinkscales. Also in attendance will be Kyle Walsh, Matt Leach, Greg Towne plus members of athletics administration and officials with the Indiana State University Foundation and Alumni Association.
The Coachman Restaurant is located at 6112 Cambridge Way in Plainfield. The event is free of charge and will feature complimentary appetizers as well a cash bar plus the opportunity to order dinner off the restaurant’s menu. Event registration will begin at 5:30 p.m. Several of the head coaches as well as Clinkscales will speak about the program and a question & answer session will be held.
Indiana State alum John Michael Vincent (popularly known as JMV) will serve as host of the event. JMV is a nationally-renowned sports talk personality based out of Indianapolis and serves as host of “The Ride With JMV” which airs daily on ESPN Radio The Fan 1070 AM.
All fans in attendance will be entered into a free drawing for raffle items, ranging from complimentary tickets to Sycamore gea
