Really had a great time. The tailgate was off the charts with tons of Blue. All the friends I went to school were there. Anybody remember OB Barnett? Blocked for Vincent Allan?
Just a great time. Spare me you guys that want to shit all over our football players and program. We know your ROI Ka Ka.
Just totally loved Homecoming, and back in The Haute!

This season, there are 5 Tree football games - if the tailgate was off the charts and EVERYONE had a good time, why in the world don't those Trees Must Have Football Fans go to EVERY home game?

Always seemed a bit... odd

If you ever thought (like shall I post this) about what you say, I doubt you would ever say it. I waited on Saturday Morning at The Hilton, guess what, you never showed.

You know you don’t have to be A Richard Head everyday. Give it a rest for like 6 months.

Funny how you gloss over his point. Where are these fans who have so much fun the rest of the year? How much did they donate to the program this weekend?

Glad you had a good time. 5 million well spent so that everyone can have fun one weekend of the year. Half of which never actually went into the game to watch.

I'm going to put this in a way that you would understand. Do you want to know how much we care about your hatred of ISU Football?

None of it really matters anymore. This administration isn't going to do anything. They're not going to cut the program and they're not going to map out a plan for future success.

So true and that's what so damn sad about the entire discussion. The absolute DECADES of inertia on football specifically but much of the Tree Athletic Dept

It must be so much easier to go through life and argue out of emotion rather than logic or facts.

Not one time, not once, have you ever refuted another persons point. You just name call and label them a hater. Despite the fact that my family has given more money to ISU then you will in two lifetimes.

But no, just childishly name call instead.

Good comeback.

This is correct....nothing is going to change until there is a SEMO-type situation and ISU's hand is forced because structural engineers say the stadium is too old to be safe....which can't be that many more years away.

BThunder - Not surprising, I wasn't really looking for an answer, more just musing about MANY diehard fans building up Homecoming as the (only) reason for ISU to have a football team... IIRC, I last made it to Homecoming in... 2016-2018 and I don't recall it being memorable

I can sense the passion for Sycamore football every time I look at the thread for tomorrow’s game and sift through the dozens of pages of comments and thoughts by all the hard core Sycamore football fans……

Oh wait

What exactly do you want us to talk about? We all know the team, especially the offense and the play calling, is pathetic this season.

If you don't remember I started some of the game threads during one of the Lansing years because literally no one including Jason was interested in our basketball program at the time due to it being so pathetic. Think we went something like 5-13 in the MVC that season.

The scary thing is even then it could get dismissed. We could have a tragic situation involving the stadium's deteriorating condition that forces its closure and shutting down the program. Something that leaves a black eye on the university's ineptitude far worse than the team's performance. I absolutely could see something like this happening because the administration's approach to things is very similar to the Davenport, Iowa, city administration's approach, or lack thereof.

I rarely post on the football threads because I prefer not to wade through all the cynical and sarcastic posts.

Respect you, but this is such a weak take.

We have people that watch State football but nobody really follows it save for SF96. If we did, said cynical/sarcastic posts would be drown out by those actually talking football. These are the conversations being had literally because nobody wants to talk about the actual players or games. Numerous times I've tried to drive conversations and nobody was interested in talking potential matchups or any other gameday talking points. It's always been that way, even when we were actually winning on semi regular basis. I would waste hours trying to drum up talking points only to be met with crickets.

Either you be the change you're seeking or you're complicit by inaction.

Agree Jason, but it goes on and on. How many different ways shall it be said. Why don’t you football haters just focus on basketball, and just don’t watch. Only way to fix this is more money, and get rid of Mallory. Need to be able to recruit out of state. These guys that Mallory are bringing in are just not talented to play at this level.
I also get tired of the negativity.
