The Sycamore Level
I just called the College of Technology trying to find out some info. I ended the conversation with a question about the mood on campus. I asked if everyone was excited about our team going to St. Louis. He had no idea our team was about to start the Mo. Valley Tourney. How ???? LOL

Are you sure you didn't accidentally call the Hulman Center ticket office? :D

Oh...that is not surprising in the least. With the Statesman not covering sports properly, with the majority of students not engaged in non-degree related activities (which is improving by the way in terms of involvement) it is not surprising in the least. And if you talked with someone that is actually a staff or faculty member again, not only is that not surprising, I would expect that...sad, but true

Correct Sack--true, and very sad.

I'm currently getting my master's though the school to technology and it doesn't surprise me either. In most of my classes the number of American born citizens in the minority, so ISU basketball isn't the topic of most conversations.

Check the Figures

Sad, but ............... last Saturday's numbers (Senior Day around the MVC)

Miss St 11,000 +

E-ville 10,000 +

Creighton 15,000 +

ISU 5,000 +

*** Even the "Duke of the Horizon League" (Butler) 10,000

Yes I know there were reasons for some of the above, but still ......

It is all about PRIDE in the Institution! It is vastly improved in the past 2-3 years but still a long way off...
Just a thought...maybe the HC should offer discounts to professors on season tickets...or give each department a specific amount of tickets for faculty to give out every now and then (I realize the students get in for free, but I mean to that "suite/VIP" thing)....

I guess I should clarify my statement...I never knew they did that if they did...good that they do, but probably not promoted well. I paid full price when I was there because I didn't know there was a discount.

I believe Go Sycamores shows faculty/staff discounts for certain sports, not all as I believe should be done. I also believe it would help if general admission/orange seats were offered free to students in elementary, middle school and high school when accompanied by a paying adult--say up to 2 free students for each paying adult. Take players to the schools to generate enthusiasm and go from there. It would seem to be worth a try at least.

Just checked on discounted tickets. Seems not available for baseball. Limited to more expensive seats for men's and women's hoops. Info for other sports not available at this time.

I really just found this somewhat funny this morning. I understand that not every one on campus is a basketball fan. I really just started this for the off beat humor of an old shop teacher.
Did not expect this many responses.

Go Blue!!! Wish I could go to St. Louis! Working the sectional games for my school ....we host one this year.

I think ISU employees do get some kind of discount, not sure how much though. It says on season ticket order forms. I had a professor at ISU, Dr. James Jacobs, who was the best teacher, did great research, and was at many basketball and football games. I think seeing him be passionate about ISU as a whole and not just the Special Education department made his teachings a little more meaningful to me.

Greene, we have a sectional too. I'll be working all week.
