today on wthi he said we will be more aggressive in the passing game....last year that was our strength....if we get that rolling like it can and shakir stays healthy....we will be unstoppable period. if our D continues we will make a very good playoff run....we played horrible and stayed in the game against #2 uni at the unidome without our starting CB and LB and RB...how dangerous can this team be?

OH...wthi interviewed sycamore sam and he said it...LOL...just joking....trent said it...I guess they put some heavy focus on throwing the ball...

We have to be more balanced in our offense to have a shot at the playoffs and staying in contention for a conference championship.

I think we get the pass game together...and bell...we beat ndsu at home...southern will be tough....ill st will fight but I think they are winnable...I think bell has proven that he won't be stopped...and teams haven't really had to worry about our passing game...I think we can make a serious run...

I wish we ran the ball better in the Redzone, how many running games do you know that move the ball between the 20s but have to pass once they are close to the end zone...

There are a few I can think of actually, including a certain pro team in Indy. I still wonder if Harris wouldn't be a better option inside the 20. Occasionally, Lough has done well in that role for us, but not against the faster defenses. Bell can drive the pile and carry defenders quite well for a quy his size, but he's not really the traditional north-south style of runner you often need in the red zone. I'm still good with giving it to him most of the time though. It's amazing how you can watch him fly into the line, disappear and suddenly the pile gets moved another five yards!

Depends on how you define "balance". To most , balance means 50/50. If that's your definition I would challenge it...you don't win by doing less of what you're best at just to be 50/50. Did you see Green Bay this past Sunday night? They definately were not balanced in their attack. They put the ball in Rogers hands and he threw like a mad man and they won! If balance is being able to be effective at both running and passing (and being able to adjust depending on how defenses are playing you) then yes "balance" is good.

It's not just play selection. We tried to have a nice mix of run and pass plays last week and still had almost no balance. I'd say it's a balance that allows you to convert first downs and move the ball. Preferably its 50/50 because you're doing both well, but at the very least hopefully we're passing one out of every three plays.

We have been semi predictable in the past. The power play over right tackle is our short yardage go to play. Personally, we need to take some shots early and send a message to those safeties that crowding the line of scrimmage isn't a good idea. Even if we only get one reception on 3 tries, it will be in the back of their heads.
