Brought the world of college basketball to a frenzy with it's upset of overall number 1 overall seed Kansas have you heard ESPN or other announcers mention Indiana State?

I have heard it atleast 20 times... lol

And let me say this, I love the publicity but it's actually the 8th team in the Valley to reach the sweet 16. It's been one of the most obvious mistakes from network to network that I have ever seen... Is anyone else ready to move beyond the shadow that was Larry Bird? I mean can you imagine the story lines if the Sycamores ever did make a sweet 16? WOW.

List of MVC teams in Sweet Sixteen

Here is the list of MVC teams who have made the Sweet Sixteen since 1979. The MVC office in St. Louis tells me that the sentence that set off the erroneous statements by television networks was: "UNI was the first MVC tournament champion to make the Sweet Sixteen since 1979."

The comment from the MVC office was: "That statement is misleading so why use it?"

1981 - Wichita State
1994 - Tulsa
1995 - Tulsa
1999 - Missouri State
2002 - Southern Illinois
2006 - Bradley and
Wichita State
2007 - Southern Illinois
2009 - Northern Iowa

Wasn't it the season after both Bradley & Wichita State made the Sweet 16 that the number of Valley bids went south because the Valley had figured out a way to max the rpi or some other dumba$$ excuse?

There were numerous articles after we got four teams in that the MVC had "cracked the code" of the RPI (remember, it should have been five because Missouri State had an RPI of 21 and got bent over by the committee). Since then, we have regressed to a one bid league. The problem is that we have not had as many signature wins, from top down. The year we got four bids, almost every team in the league had a win over a BCS school, now those teams make it difficult to schedule and therefore, get a victory.

The sweetest part of the four bids back in 2006 was Billy Packer running his mouth about how the committee made a mistake and let in four valley teams, they did not deserve it, etc and then two get to the sweet sixteen. The greatest change to the NCAA tournament in my lifetime has been Billy Packer no longer being on the air. Horrible, absolutely horrible announcer. If it wasn't a BCS school, he couldn't tell you one thing about the team.
