The Odum Level
With Bell, the young oline recruits (more depth) and the QBs and WR transfers, how much better should our offense be this year? Our defense should only get better and this class has a lot of offense in it. Hopefully those frustrating games with long first down cold streaks will be a thing of the past. As much as I'm looking forward to this spring and summer, I'm already anxious for the 2010 football season to start.

No one else have any opinions on this? How much scoring should we expect from our offense this year? At the very least they should be able to move the ball and keep our defense off the field more.

way to go....just kill that enthusiasm....lol.....winner of the grinch of the year award.....bah humbug....lol.....

Bent, so much of the answers to your questions depends on the offensive line. Miles obviously feels comfortable with the guys coming back, entering their third year in the system, and feels that we're gonna be OK there. I would still feel better seeing a couple of 6'8", 320 lb. O-linemen transfer in after starting at Florida, but I really don't know enough about football players to make an educated guess. I would think that if our line can protect the QB and open up some decent holes for the RB's, we should be much improved on the offensive side. So much so that we might be near .500 this season. But if our QB is just serving as a target all year, and our RBs average 0.8 yards per carry, we won't see much improvement. Of course, I'm rooting for the marked improvement!!!

It's always football season (just to varying degrees)... Besides this is the football forum right?!

I got your back Bent20!

If you don't feel like talking football you don't have to 28. It's a long off season and we have plenty of time to talk basketball and baseball. I'm a pretty big football fan myself, so as far as I'm concerned we can't talk enough about re-building the Sycamores football program.

I agree ITF, the line's performance will go a long way toward determining how much better our offense will be.

i am excited for the team this year. some impressive recruits - exceeded my expectations. i'm thinking the 2011 season, should everyone remain healthy and stay at ISU, will be the big turning point in terms of win/loss

will be interesting to see how much playing time the new guys get

I agree on 2011, but I'm hopeful for this year. We really need to do better than one win to show that we really are getting better. If the players keep working hard in the off season there is no reason we shouldn't show continued improvement in games.

since this is a football area on the website...we talk football....

we can talk hoops, baseball, track in their respective areas....so there...lol....

Tom let it go - he posted that 2 weeks ago for gosh sakes while you were basking in the Florida sun... Who cares if 28 doesn't want to talk football, his opinion at that point becomes irrelevant.

For the record, I will talk "track" not "trash" on this forum if I want to... lol

Yeah got him on the 2nd last weekend of Shotgun season in West T. It was my first time going hunting, my good friend Kenny took me and I hadn't shot a gun since I was 12 years old and went Rabbit hunting with my dad.

My buddy Kenny was really surprised that I got him, he stopped him 3 times before I felt comfortable enough to take the shot! lol
