I always hate to see someone injured and out for the season. But, that is life in the NFL. It would be good to see McCleskey step up and take advantage of the situation. He has worked very hard for many years to earn this chance. It would be great for him and great for ISU football if he makes the team and is able to help the Colts throughout the season.

I am sure Tom James will be quick to report it when and if that does happen... No need for me to even follow this story, TJ is over every transaction that takes place be it McCleskey or Patroski... So and so was added to the practice squad for so and so... All the sudden it becomes news worthy around here  So and so is not on the practice squad anymore... So and so who played football for Indiana State put his shirt on today, right arm first then the left... lol

Love you though Tom.

You don't think that following former ISU players into Professional Sports (roster tracking) is appropriate for an ISU Football forum?

HMMM...seems like we track ex-athletes in other sports....

when they move on to the professional ranks....or higher levels of play....but football doesn't count now eh?....lol...i see how it is morgan....lol......

Ahhh I haven't slobbered over it to much... Track is a joke professionally, it really gets no hype unless your name is Bolt or Gay... I for one wouldn't want to be called either one, both have or are associated with negative connotation.

No 11 it belongs, just giving TJ a hard time, it really shouldn't come as a surprise at this point. None of it is as serious as some take it to be. I just can't get enough of it, I read it on here and then I open up the Tribune Star and I read it their. But in all honesty he's not the only one reporting it, the Indy Star is all over roster moves like that also. He's just keeping me informed, I get it. TJ took it the right way, just giving him a hard time. Not that you didn't take it the right or wrong way - you asked so I explained my sense of humor...

you know what's funny morgan.....

is that the times when i havent written something about a player with indiana state ties.....i either didnt know about it or just forgot to write it or it got bumped out of my story due to editing.....i hear about it from the player's family...friends....etc....lol...so i get it from both sides....either i write too much...or not enough.......lol.....

Oh I can only imagine... Can't please everyone TJ - gotta do what you gotta do. Heck if it was my kid, family member or friend I would be loving the coverage... So I can totally appreciate where you are coming from. I was just giving you a hard time - seeing as how one day he would be on the roster the next off the roster and it was just constantly changing and we were always quick to be informed, I just found it humorous.

morgan...YOU found it humerous....try this on for size....

....i go out for colts practice tuesday morning...and see donye' on the sidelines...working with a trainer.....this is during early drills, so i don't really think too much about it...i figure he's just getting some help stretching....trying to loosen up.....i had an associated press photopgrapher get a chot of him....with the trainer......then he doesn't practice at all.....i come out that night....and i'm handed a press release......that says that he was been waived injured along with jamie silva.....no injury given, which is the colts' normal policy, just that he has been waived injured.....

Anyone know what happened to Donye McCleskey after he got waived by the Colts last fall? Assuming he got healthy, I always wondered why the Colts didn't bring him back in once they started having all the injury problems.

I thought he was waived-injured, which meant he could be signed once he recovered from the injury.

he had an ankle injury.....

the way that he was placed on injured reserve, when he was released he can't be re-signed for a specific period of time.

that's what happened to wr taj smith when he was hurt in training camp. the colts wanted to bring him back but they had to wait a specific period of time before they could. he couldn't re-sign with the team until late november/early december.

i am pretty sure that is the same case with mccleskey. he can't be re-signed until a certain period of time has passed. that is if they want to bring him back in the first place.
