Hulman Center capacity

I distinctly remember several folks fighting for a smaller arena during the renovation discussions a few years back... 4,000-5,000 capacity was mentioned several times... How do you folks feel now? I am wondering if they could add a few rows of retractable seating at the top and list those as general admission seats? Maybe get 500-1000 more butts in the stands... Give those to local teams and youth groups, etc. for cheap.

Agree… But I think most people of opposing teams and media that have attended post renovation have recognized how nice of a venue this is both inside and out. Not just the Bird statue, but all the great restaurants in walking distance, the soon to open Bird museum - I mean the location + renovations couldn’t make for a better game day experience!

* Drastically improve WiFi

* Drastically improve food/drink lines

* Create a permanent glassed in area for merchandise sales so it’s not a “pop-up”

That’s about it… Other than that pretty awesome place to watch a ball game.

When Bob King first saw the HC he wanted to know why they built it so small....

The HC is now a jewel - and there has never been a bad seat in the house. IMHO its the best basketball venue in the midwest.

Never wanted it near that low..I always thought 8k was the best number.. bring ppl on top of each other and on days like this?? You create some serious FOMO and will drive future sales. I'll always stand by the fact we should have taken it down to around that 8k number...absolutely beautiful arena though either way!

It is one of the best mid-major arenas in the country. 8k+ capacity is also the perfect number — you don’t want to be struggling to sell out games you really want sold out.
