If you stayed at the Downtown Hilton....

Just a few thoughts from a Shocker Fan---
1. Congrats on a great tournament and good luck at the dance!!
2. Your fans are very classy! We stayed at the downtown Hilton and never once heard anything negative from your fans. At one point we were leaving the hotel right as your pep rally was beginning and were not heckled at all. Returning from the game on Saturday your fans were very respectful and again nothing but nice things to say.
3. On Sunday as we were leaving we gave our tickets to a very nice couple--but I wish I knew how to contact them so I could apologize!!. I handed them our tickets but didn't realize until we got back to Wichita that the tickets I gave them were the old tickets from Saturday. They were a very nice older couple who got on the elevator on the 2nd floor of the hotel. They said their son was driving from Indianapolis for the game. This is a long shot but if you know them please give them our apologies!!

They are a wonderful couple and they read this board. Their son is another story. :eek7: Kidding! Fantastic family. I'm sure you'll hear from them on here soon.

I stayed at the Hilton and will return the compliment. Every Shocker fan I met there was a class act and very friendly. Thanks for your thoughts and well wishes, they are much appreciated!

At 24 years old you have to be very careful these days about who and what you consider as "older". lol With that being said ITF, were your parents at the game?

Hahahahaha......that's too funny. Glad to hear the CONFESSION!!! LOL. We just thought it was some WSU fans having some big time fun.

The guy who ended up with those tickets was me, via IndyTreeFan, via IndyTreeFans Dad. IndyTreeFan and I car-pooled from Indy to the Lou on Sunday. I drove down from Fort Wayne and met him at the Steak-n-Shake at the Plainfield exit off of I-70, just outside of Indy, and off we went. And get this, IndyTreeFan, were total strangers until Sunday. We'd never met before. It was a cold contact made via this board when IndyTreeFan wanted to know if anyone wanted to caravan, or carpool to the game on Sunday.

Anyway, the story actually gets worse (hopefully funny). I just needed the one ticket, but IndyTreeFans Dad gave me both. Knowing how much was invested in the one ticket, I couldn't stand the thought of chucking it. So I stood outside for at least 5 or 10 minutes trying to give away one FREE ticket. Finally, I had a couple around maybe 60 or so who were just thrilled to get a FREE ticket into the game. Little did I know that their, or my tickets were not valid. So after I was denied entry, and had to turn around, I was hoping that they hadn't tried to get in at the same time.....to only have them see me and yell out...THERE HE IS, GET HIM!!!

Anyway, I got into the game just fine, so don't have any no worries.

I just wonder now what that nice couple that I gave the other ticket to, are thinking, or saying even yet today!

Shocker fan, thanks for the nice note. We are that older couple, ouch that hurts, but probably true. The tickets were given to the person who carpooled with our son, IndyTree Fan, and we found out the mistake when Gotta Hav also on this board tried to use them. No problem though as we have a super person who handles our tickets, and Gotta Hav was in the game with no problem. Thanks for the gesture and for the apologies when you found out the mistake. What a great weekend for us. We were there when we won in 2001 and this was just as great. Best wishes to you and the Shockers. I am sure you have more games to play. Much appreciation.
