Improving Ball State's profile

With the discussion on possible Shocker football I thought about the image of Ball State football since their move to the MAC. Are they any better after moving up? Should they stay there? Why did I make tiis post? Because there is little to talk about now.

Your asking if ISU-Muncee is better known because they play football in the MAC vs. the MVFC or the Pioneer or the GLVC if they were still D2? No, I don't believe they are 'better'.

Better than who? Just athletic profile? Academic profile?

Your question begs a lot of questions. That said, I think you're seeing a ground swell of their athletic fans realizing how much money they're losing despite having mediocre success. That may tell you something.

They are no better for moving up because the MAC is hardly a move up. I'd rather have a chance to compete in a playoff format and in one of the best FCS conferences than the opportunity to play in the Motor City Bowl every 5-8 years.

I also don't get the sense they are seeing any more fans than before. Just more money going out of the institution.
