so I was looking at the list of the Indiana HS all stars named today by the Indy Star. Two of the twelve are going to MVC schools, one to Bradley, one to Evansville.

Did we recruit any of these guys, were were seriously considered by any of these guys, and should we be disappointed/concerned none chose to come to ISU?

Seems like some pretty good players in the bunch

I haven't looked at the all-stars and I didn't go to the top 40 this year. However, we were only after bigs this year. So, we would have had little interest in anyone under 6'7".

It was on here that we looked at Cline at Carmel. I saw him on TV and wasn't sure about him; and he committed to PU. I think we also had interest in the kid from Pendleton that's going to Butler. My brother-in-law was not impressed with him, but some on here reported that he looked good.

Who's going to Bradley? This list from the Star omitted it... I also found it very interesting that Hall placed Speidel on the team regardless... so, Kessinger doesn't deserve the same consideration?

In his seven years as IndyStar Indiana All-Star game director, Charlie Hall said this year's boys roster — the 14th team he's coordinated, counting boys and girls — was the most difficult to construct.

"Last year after the Top-60 workout, we had a list of 15 names total," Hall said. "This year after the Top-60, we had a list of 12 wing players. It's just a really difficult year. It's not just a case of two or three kids missing out. It's a case of 10 or 12 other kids who could have been on the team. There wasn't a lot of separation."

Hall had previously announced that Columbus North senior Josh Speidel, who continues to make progress from a Feb. 1 car accident, would have a spot on the All-Star team.

Here is a look at the boys Indiana All-Star roster:

Caleb Swanigan, Homestead: COLLEGE: Michigan State The 6'9" recruit led Homestead to a Class 4A state title — the first in school history — and was named IndyStar Mr. Basketball, the ultimate double. Swanigan averaged 22.6 points and 13.7 rebounds as a senior and finished his three-year high school career with 1,649 points and 1,048 rebounds.

Ryan Cline of Carmel: COLLEGE, Purdue, the 6-foot-5 Cline was voted IndyStar Mr. Basketball runner-up after averaging 20.7 points, 5 rebounds, 3.7 assists and shooting 43 percent from the 3-point line as a senior. Cline was a key member of Carmel's Class 4A state championship as a sophomore and helped the Greyhounds to a 69-7 record over the past three seasons.

Joel Okafor, Richmond: COLLEGE, TBD (verbally committed to Bradley; received his release from Wisconsin-Green Bay after a coaching change), The 5-10 guard averaged 15.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, 6.4 assists and 2.3 steals as a senior and led Richmond to a regional title as a senior. Okafor started all four seasons and scored 1,092 career points.

Harris Brown, Howe: COLLEGE: Evansville recruit; the 5-11 guard named Indianapolis City Player of the Year and first team Super Team after averaging 30.3 points, 4 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 3 steals. Howe won its first City tournament title since 1987 and finished 18-4.

Devin Cannady, Mishawaka Marian: COLLEGE: Princeton; the 6-footer led his team to a 20-1 record and No. 1 ranking much of the season in Class 3A. Cannady averaged 22.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.5 steals.

Jaelan Sanford, Evansville Reitz: COLLEGE: Toledo; led high-scoring Evansville Reitz to a Class 4A runner-up showing at state. Sanford averaged 20.7 points as a senior and was one of five players named Associated Press first team all-state.

Ryan Fazekas, Michigan City Marquette: COLLEGE: Providence; led Marquette to a Class A state title as a junior and a runner-up finish as a senior. Fazekas averaged 20.9 points a game and finished his high school career with 1,562 points.

K.J. Walton, Brownsburg: COLLEGE: undecided, led Brownsburg to back-to-back regional appearances as a junior and senior. He averaged 19.7 points and 5 rebounds as a senior and posted a 42-point game vs. Warren Central.

Sean McDermott, Pendleton Heights: COLLEGE: Butler; averaged 16 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2 assists and shot 34 percent from the 3-point line as a senior for the Arabians. Pendleton Heights finished 17-7.

Ryan Welage, Greensburg: COLLEGE: undecided, helped Greensburg to back-to-back Class 3A titles as a sophomore and junior and averaged 30.8 points and 13.7 rebounds as a senior. Greensburg was 98-7 over the course of Welage's four-year high school career.

Matt Holba, Guerin Catholic: COLLEGE: Lehigh averaged 18.8 points, 9.7 rebounds, 3 steals and 2.2 blocked shots to lead Guerin Catholic to a Class 3A state title as a senior.

Tahjai Teague, Pike: COLLEGE: Indiana State_Muncee, helped Pike to its fifth consecutive sectional title this season. Teague averaged 13.7 points, 9.8 rebounds and 2.3 blocked shots as a senior.

Derrik Smits, Zionsville: COLLEGE: Valparaiso; averaged 14.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.6 blocked shots as a senior as Zionsville finished 19-7. 7' 0" Smits scored a season-high 33 points vs. Anderson.

Josh Speidel, Columbus North: COLLEGE: Vermont; averaged 25.6 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 17 games. He suffered a traumatic brain injury in a two-car accident in Bartholomew County on Feb. 1

The All-Stars will play exhibition games against the Junior All-Stars on June 8 at Richmond and June 10 at Columbus North (girls games at 6 p.m., followed by boys). The games vs. the Kentucky All-Stars are June 12 (in Lexington, Ky.) and June 13 (at Bankers Life Fieldhouse). Columbus East's Brent Chitty will coach the team and will be assisted by Jason Groves (Triton) and Brian Satterfield (Hamilton Southeastern).

The one going to Bradley is Joel Okafor from Richmond. He decommitted from Wisc-Green Bay when the coach left for Bradley & has either given a verbal or probably already signed with the Braves.

I hope Kessinger arrives at ISU with a chip on his shoulder just like Matt Renn did when he was slighted by the "All-Stars". He showed fire and enthusiasm for all four years and had a heck of a Sycamore career.

Didnt realize the evansville recruit averaged 30 ppg. Is it same to assume that he is going to be a Colt Ryan, DJ Balentine version 3.0?

Harris Brown is much better at getting his own shot than DJ or Colt. Won't need as many ball screens and set plays. He is quick enough to just go past you on his own.

Very good player, still don't see how his game fits into Eville's system though.

Marty will give him the ball and tell others to get out of his way.

For the rest of you, BT and I offered to kidnap Harris and drop him off in Terre Haute. I do NOT look forward to facing him if he can play disciplined.
