Wichita to open the conference season when the students are still gone. Follow that up with two road contests and home to the preseason 2/3 team in ISUR....yuck

There is a chance we could be 1-3 heading into the fifth game with Drake. That is a rough opening stretch but such is life in the Valley. Really hope the team can gel early with all of the newcomers and first timers.

Well we always seem to play very well (and win) the first 5-6 valley games so maybe having the toughest opponents then will help our standings. But we also seem to play like crap the last 5-6 valley games........

There are a couple of ways you can look at hosting WSU at home to start the MVC schedule:

1) On one hand, it's an opening home game which can only help. Regardless of the opponent, playing on the road to start conference play is very tough. We have that advantage even if only 500 people show up. Getting WSU early in the schedule may also benefit us if they're not completely gelling, yet. Chances are WSU gets it together at some point in the year, but based on what happened in Canada they're clearly still finding an identify. Getting them early could help; although, we generally are slow-starters too.

2) On the other hand, it's still WSU and we may be screwed no matter what.

hopefully this is the year we begin to avoid our February collapse, will be able to see the Missouri-St Louis game and the Wichita State game, so looking forward to seeing a couple home games in person

Well, this is the first year I feel like we have an official changing of the guard if you know what I mean. Very few upperclassmen are long time members within the program so it's possible there could be a distinct culture change. I'll be interested to see who takes over the leadership role on the team since Brenton seems like a quiet kid and that may not be his forte.
