What's Up With The Crock ?

So what is going on with the ONLINE edition of The Crock ? Friday's game was not on (as had been promised). And I thought they were suppose to have all the ISU games both over the air and ONLINE ?

What's up ?

I think that's funny that that person called Hulman Center a gym.

But I also like the picture of Bird that that other person posted.

Thanks for the invite Mayberry.

QU, and True: I am assuming you are referring to my comment. I didn't mean anything by calling it a gym. I've been to about 4 different Big 10 basketball games at different places and I call all them gyms as well. I also wasn't knocking your place. It just struck me as odd that it is almost built straight up it seemed. I am guessing that is to make it louder and more difficult on the opposition?

And I agree our gym is a dump. My highschool gym held about 2x the amount Kimble does.

While the interior seating reminds me of the Florida JC scene, I think ISU could borrow a few architectural ideas from their entranceway. ISU's Hulman Center has without a doubt, one of the CHEAPEST looking front doors. Why can't we redo that drab-looking poured concrete? You would've thought that the PAST HC Director & "cultural icon," Cliff Lambert could've resolved this decades ago?

Hmmm -- $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$?

With any luck, there's a plan in the State Strat Plan to upgrade the Hulman Center and you're right, the exterior is begging for some curb appeal; surely there's an architect who can suggest a redo. The entrance should be an ENTRANCE! Incorporate a TON of red brick to the exterior.

Thoughts?

we are planning on a new convocation center:

Usually it's not just $$$, but project PRIORITY ranking as well. I'd like to see a combo of Bedford Stone and red brick to harmonize with the Hulman/Clabber Girl facility and neighboring buildings like the Old BusTerminal. The key...make HC look like the TH cultural centerpiece that it is. As I mentioned in another post, the City has done a wonderful job renovating the Downtown Area. Keep it rolling...
