The best part.... it's not just "new freshmen" or "let anyone in"... Retention is better and the quality of student is better...

Overall enrollment is up 5.9 percent, freshman enrollment has grown 3 percent, SAT scores of new students are up and the number of laptop scholarship recipients reached 1,449, an increase of 677 from when the laptop program began in 2006. Laptop scholarships require students to have a minimum 3.0 high school grade point average to qualify.

This is one of the more exciting headlines I look forward to hearing about during the beginning of the year. It really is an exciting time to be apart of ISU in all aspects of the university!

I had planned to ask these very quietions tonight. Some of us OFC members don't don't know a twit about a tweet.

700 seems pretty strong! I know not all of those will attend games regularly, but that number seems much higher than last season. Lynch might be able to shed some light on if thats true or not.

Hey everyone! So I am no longer the director of the Forest. That honor now goes to former Sycamore Footballer Matt Masengale. My new role as a grad student on campus is the student affairs GA in the athletics office. I am continuing to bring creative ideas to the home games and continue trying to solve your puzzle of how to get people to come to games and enjoy themselves. The Forest as you all assume is continuing to grow like wild fire. Last I checked the overall number is 750+ members. We have close to 200 members renewed from last years group. Working on reaching out to last years group and getting everyone excited about athletics. I can now say one of the hardest things I've has to do is watch the Forest from the outside. As a professional I love watching other students get the chance to lead this group and the joy that comes with it. I get to work with them with my athletics GA position but I am working on giving them their space to make their own decisions. Anyways the Forest is still going strong. Look for a large presence at the home football game in a week.

This is what I'm happy to hear.

They need to continue to push the academic profile of the institution. I think they will find greater school pride and giving as it improves.
