The Captain Level
A rare very positive story about ISU in Indianapolis Star identifies two women track recruits from Plainfield: thrower Morgan Ford and sprinter Courtney Erlenbaugh. Also named but not identified with ISU is junior women's basketball recruit Kasey Johnson, winner of the 400-meter dash.

Wonder what would happen if everyone who reads this story clicked the "recommend" button? At least it would show the Indy Star that stuff about ISU is read.

Actually notice something - if you click on the page titled "State Colleges" they actually list Indiana State now. This is a new feature I think - they have had more Indiana State news on that site in the past 2 months as they ever had in the past. Dang the star finally realizes something:

1. A lot of people in Terre Haute read the Indy Star.

2. A lot of alums from Indiana State live in the Indy area and the Indy Star is their daily paper...

Finally some pub on a state wide scale, I like it, I like it!

Last I heard, there are over 12,000 alumni in Indy. Trust me, we have done it before, so write a letter to the Star, specifically to Jim Lefko, the sports editor. He WILL respond to you. IT has made a difference in the past. The state universities have been seperated for years on their website, but they seem to be putting more ISU stuff there lately. It doesn't hurt that the track teams are really good, the baseball team is not only good, they WHOOPED I.U, the lady golfers have had some success, and even the football team has some stories that are being covered nationally. There is power in numbers, trust me. If they b-ball team takes off, then you should REALLY pitch a bitch~

Good post and excellent acknowledgement across the board... Couldn't agree more - write an article on behalf of sycamorepride.com Jason! That's 1,000 members! I read the star daily and I would like to see that Sycamore on their sports home page - just like Hanover, IU and PU.

That is great. I wish all of our sports could be successful enough to bring us such flattering recognition.
