interesting comments from north dakota state coach about playing at kansas last week.

North Dakota State head coach Craig Bohl had some interesting words this week.

As you probably know, North Dakota State went into Lawrence, Kansas last Saturday and defeated Turner Gill’s Jayhawks by a score of 6-3.

As his team prepares for the road trip to Northern Iowa, Bohl said, “I think the environment that we're going to play in Cedar Falls is going to be much more of a hostile environment than Memorial Stadium in Kansas. That was pretty docile.”

"And the type of team that we're going to be playing is going to be a much more physical, aggressive football team than KU. And quite frankly I think we're going to be playing a better opponent. I know one school is in the Big 12 and the other one is in the Missouri Valley. I think that gives an indication on how we see Missouri Valley play and the respect we give Northern Iowa."

With these interesting comments, we wonder if there is something between Bohl and Turner Gill. Both played and then later served on the same coaching staff at Nebraska for a number of years.

Wow, talk about poking him in the eye after beating him up. That said, the back and forth between UNI and NDSU fans is getting pretty testy over on FCS boards like AnyGivenSaturday and the like.

Yeah, I understand the respect he was trying to give to the MoVal and N. Iowa, but that's pretty low to be talking about KU after a win. I would think you would want the team you just upset to look good. Heck, by these comments he is making it sound like they didn't even upset them. Lol.

Well they should be mad. They've been embarassed twice by the MoVall. UNI in March and now NDSU in football. Love it!!

Turner Gill and Coach Bohl are actually very close friends, they used to hang out all the time and their kids are friends with each other. Some speculation that Bohl said that to help Gills guys light a fire under their buts. Also all the crap the Kansas Brass and fans outside of Gill gave us before the trip down with predictions of 57-0 blowouts and blah blah, just made it more fun. Kansas fans are some real jerks if you guys have ever had to deal with them.

Well did he say anything that wasn't true? Great win for the Bison and their defense played great, but I think most of the teams in the Valley would give that Kansas team all they can handle. There is no doubt this weekend's game is a bigger, tougher contest for them.
