They are probably taking into consideration that we now have Jake Kelly which DOES make the Sycamores a good pick for that list.

..................or both? we're going to win some this year!

You have got to assume we will get out of the gates much better this season, I can't imagine a late season run will be necessary. I see us right in the top half of the league all season long and if we are not better than that I will be very dissapointed.

For Morgan...

Other than...

The NCAA requirement to sit out a year when transferring?

The fact that J. Kelly has to request an appeal / waiver to the rule?!

I've no idea if he will be granted the appeal but I consider him INELIGIBLE until the NCAA
grants the appeal.

Hopefully they will -- I don't they will rule until the fall semester begins, perhaps as late as the beginning of MBB practice.

Jake Kelley will make us better whether he plays this season or not. Reports I get have him leading the team in work-outs, extra shoot-arounds, and positive attitude. Leadership...at least positive leadership... is hard to come by these days.

Three years with Jake in the program would actually be better in the long run. Patience is golden! However, when you're as starved for big time basketball as we are, it's hard to look at the big picture! I can't wait to see him play, but I think it would be better for the program if he red shirted.

Morgan,

I tossed it to you b/c of your statement to Sycs28:
Where do you come up with things like this? Show me a link or something that would support you talking like this...

I probably took it as somewhat of a challenge -- these boards are rife w/ rumor and innuendo, such is the nature of the beast, but I'll stick to my statement, J, Kelly is ineligible until the NCAA has ruled otherwise.

Whether he plays this season or next, he'll make the team better; leadership, character, heart, etc. I'm really hopeful they grant the waiver but that group can be squirrelly -- I didn't mean to 'kick you in the shin' -- Hadn't finished my coffee!

I'm down with this.

Where are the Salukis???

A mid-major fixture for several years, the Salukis are not only missing from the Top 25 list but from the others to watch?

I see my local Richmond Spiders made the list. That team shows what is possible with a patient rebuilding program as Coach Mooney enters his fifth season with a talented team playing in the very tough A10 (Xavier, Dayton, UMass, LaSalle, Temple, etc). To show how limited the research is for these kinds of lists, the list maker does not mention that Richmond's Dan Geriot, a 6' 9" classically skilled post player, is returning from a medical redshirt and will provide both rebounding and a palette of inside moves reminiscent of the 50's.
