Attendance of 50-60. Should have been twice that number.
Poor showing of local alums. Good showing by number of ISU coaches, staff etc that came from TH
Disappointed that Clink didn't show up and talk to the group; but he was in NC attending his son's graduation.
Coaches didn't have anything new to say.
Pacesetter Sports out of TH brought a lot of merchandise to sell.........not very many takers. Nice Football poster/schedules made available.
ISU did their part to try and make this a successful event. I don't know if this would be worth having again in view of the lackluster alum showing.
On top of this, the Alumni Office informed us the Alumni Golf outing for Thursday at Maple Creek has been cancelled due to lack of participants.

The raffle numbers (i.e. ticket numbers) showed at least 75 and I would say that in and out, that might be accurate. The numbers were more than last year and they considered that a success. I know at least ten that signed up but didn't show. Not sure why that happened. The event was well organized and the athletic department did a great job, in my opinion. I totally agree with you that I would have expected more alums to be there, although it felt almost like homecoming because I knew almost everyone. The biggest stunner......Boda looking like Bruce Lee. He looks fantastic and a huge atta boy for that cosmic makeover. I wouldn't want to meet up with him in a dark alley. The Quary and Schultz show was doing a live broadcast from there and that was a nice touch and added a flare. Jake Query moderated the coaches part of the show and was fabulous. Christy Lee did the intros and it was fun to chat with her about my old "Foghorn" days on Bob and Tom.

I just happened to WIN the grand prize, 4 season lower-bowl tickets to Men's hoops so trust me, I am thrilled. Can't wait for the season to start. Met Titus McCoy's dad and had a great conversation with him for 20 minutes or so. He's real happy with Coach Curt, as is everyone I talked to.

All in all, I differ a bit with Woz but was proud of the showing but as always, I wish we had more there. Good job AA and AD's office.

Note: They only had 50 for the golf outing but we have had less than that so who knows unless Maple Creek put a minimum number on it. In the past, we shy'd away from early June because of it being too close to all the 500 stuff. They may reschedule for August, like last year. Golf outings, in general, are on a downward trend.

Sounds like things are starting to be done in a very professional manner and that will help in the long run and something positive to build on.

The University did what they had to do. My only complaint was having it downtown at 5pm on a weekday. Otherwise, good event, good setup, good execution.

The Indianapolis alumni did not do what they had to do. They're pathetic like most of our alumni. Guess they were too busy renewing their Notre Dame football and Indiana basketball tickets.

THIS ^^

I had people say they couldn't go at 5PM on a weekday in Indy, seriously?? Worst time to have it.

I am 25+ miles from downtown. One of the guys I attend events with is vacationing in Hawaii. Good reason to miss it. The other changed his mind about attending because of time and location making him unsure about driving to City Market.. I can't fault him either. Me?? I haven't driven for 4 years due to impaired vision. I'n not complaining; bur I do understand the location and time being problems for some who would like to attend.

I thought it was well done but didn't like the time and location. Had a nice conversation with Coach Mallory. I would have bought a couple shirts but the biggest size I could find was large. I will definitely do this again.

I liked the venue but like everyone else I thought the time was a little difficult. It would have been nice to have seen an agenda released ahead of time.

I get it... I'm certainly not painting everyone with that brush but we've got thousands upon thousands of alumni in the Indianapolis area. To have less than a hundred of them show up (and that number is extremely generous) is disappointing even if they weren't there to do sports things. For example, several groups sat in the back and just chatted while the coaches were talking which is just as much of a good thing.

People should have been there to network, meet new Sycamores, catch up with old friends as much as it was about the sports. Just disappointing since I can walk into BW3s in Castleton or Stacked Pickle in Fishers and see 100+ Michigan State or Wisconsin fans having a happy hour. I've seen both places damn near capacity on a football Saturday, too.
