The NCAA Pre National meet returns to Terre Haute this weekend (as does the NCAA CC meet in November). Over 130 collegiate teams will compete in 4 separate races on Saturday around noon.

There are 6 total races with the first women's race at 11:00am, and the last men's race at 2:05pm.

The Sycamore men's team runs in the Blue race at 11:35am, while the ISU women race right after that in the women's white race at 12:15pm.

Since the football game doesn't start until 3pm I'd encourage everyone to go watch this meet, then head to the game, you will have plenty of time to get from one to the other.

It's the largest spectacle in racing (for cross country that is), and quite the event to take in. The absolute best teams in the nation will be racing and it's a great preview of the NCAA CC meet coming in November.

For more information on the meet from Coach McNichols himself, listen to this radio interview about the meet from Monday.

The Sycamore women were 12th in the B race for the women. They were led once again by S Brooke Moore in 13th place in 21:36 for 6k, freshman Alli Workman was 54th, Taylor Austin was 59th, Megan Doty was 82nd, then Abigail Grider rounded out the ISU scorers in 91st.

notes from the women's race, Wichita State was 7th, they will contend to win the MVC title in 2 weeks. Drake was 25th, they will be a non factor. IUPUI was 20th, so we finally beat them in something.

recapping the men's race, ISU's top 3 ran ok, Dave Timlin was 98th in 25:16, Akis Medrano was right behind in 102nd in 25:18, our 3rd runner was Quentin Pierce in 149th in 25:38, then our 4th and 5th men were way way way back in 246th and 251st places (Ryan Cash 26:50 and Daniel Swem 26:56). in order to contend for a top 5 finish at the MVC meet in 2 weeks those two need to really close the gap on those top 3, otherwise it may be a long meet for ISU in 2 weeks. One thing though, the MVC (outside of Bradley and WSU) is really down, so anyone could place from 3rd to 9th this year.

Other notes from the men's race, IU was 5th, their senior laden team ran as a pack and moved up steady thru the race.

Bradley was 8th, I predict they will be racing again in Terre Haute at the NCAA meet, they are that good.

Purdue was 16th, Butler was 19th, IUPUI was 27th, well ahead of ISU by nearly 200 points, Wichita State was 31st, nearly 100 points ahead of ISU.

Again, it will come down to our 4th and 5th runners as to how well they do at the MVC meet in 2 weeks
