ISU lifts ban on Preacher Larry

Per story in the Trib. Has anyone had any run ins with him? Honestly, I always found it annoying to walk through the fountain area outside Dede and have to listen to him on my way to class.

Is he as bad as 'Brother Max...'

Brother Max as the 'resident street preacher' during my days; I found it easy to ignore him (but then I never tried to debate with him...) Thought he was going to get pounded one day; one of the FBall players was walking by w/ a Sparkette on his arm; Bro. Max ID'd them as 'fornicators and blasphemers' and the game was on!

It may have been the steroids talking but man was that player PO'd!

Ahhh -- Good times!

Surprised that State dropped the ban; once they had him off campus; why let him return?!

Max (I believe) was there at the start and transitioned to Larry as I was leaving campus. And no, I don't think he was as bad as Max. I personally saw him (Max) call people sinners, fornicators and blasphemers, too.

i knew max....he was a part-time preacher at the church that i attended....

while in high school...needless to say, he was even a bit too strong for that congregation.....lol.....he got me though...i was walking across campus after lunch one day....talking to a female intern from our office...and he saw me...lol...i tried to walk away quickly...but he hollered after me.....calling me out by name.....and using the usual fornicator message...lol....the intern was a bit embarassed by the whole thing...and i apologized to her.....she wasnt upset at me...just him...for calling me out by name.....

his daughter, not surprisingly, was a bit on the wild side while in high school.

Bro Max and his OJ

Always enjoyed the times Max would have his bottle of OJ handy; every time he took a drink, a chant would always start, "Screwdriver" "Screwdriver"

Silly but I loved to find a shady spot and watch the uninitiated try and argue w/ Max.

I remember one of those crazy SOB's it was probably brother max when I was there (98-03). A few of my fraternity brothers would get drunk in the mornings so they could go mix it up with him.

Bro. Larry is ridiculous. ISU is supposed to be a place of higher learning not a place where angry, mentally disturbed people should be able to yell, insult and then use religion to spew their personal views on others at the top of their lungs. I am all for the Freedom of Speech...everyone should be able to say what they want. But this will end badly, it always does. Bad move in my opinion by ISU. Let the THPD deal with him over near the courthouse where he had been "preaching".

He has no sense of consideration for others at all. If you don't do as he thinks, then you are a sinner and going straight to hell...last time I checked the only person (besides a judge when I break the law) that can judge me is the man upstairs. I was walking with my pregnant wife as an employee of the university and he started yelling at both of us about being fornicators. I informed him that we were married and that he was an idiot!
