Here is what a prognosicator thought this past season:

StatSheet Projects Indiana State as CIT Team: 03/06/2011
--------------------------------------------------------------------
And then in the MVC Tournament:

Indiana State Steals One from Evansville, 52-50

Indiana State Advances to Missouri Valley Title Game With 61-54 Win Over Wichita State

Indiana State Wins Missouri Valley Championship 60-56 Over Missouri State

And on to play Syracuse in The Dance................................so much for prognosticators ????????????????????

I refuse to even look at his 2012 brackets....since it's APRIL 2011.

What a waste of time and internet space...JMO

They will not be a force for some time yet. Zeller will not be happy losing there and their rise to previous glory times won't happen with the admin. & coaching staff presently onboard. Way too many kool-aid drinkers in Bloomington and among the media that are giving "The Little Marcher" a free pass for too long already.

I see both sides of this discussion. The point is, it is sad that all they have to do is get in the top 7 and they have a chance to get into the tournament.
Zeller was his team's MBP in Louisville last night. He will definitely help and I am a big fan of Creek and Oladipo. If Creek can come back, it will be huge for them.
Make no mistake, they are coming back; but Crean has not proven, by any stretch, that he can coach.

That's good...now we have an accurate typology of Crean, as I was still hanging on a "Babes in Toyland" - type character. I still wonder how many pair of shoes he wears out trying to LOOK like a coach.

This whole "projection" is just a way for Joe Lunardi to try and stay relevant for more than one month out of the year. ESPN probably pays him a ton of money, endlessly hypes his "projections" throughout Feb and March and then doesn't have anything for him to do around the office for the other 10 months of the year.

Guess he's a bit like a weatherman. Continually forecast a 50% chance of rain and he's right about half the time? The other half, nobody remembers or cares?

Fyi...

The posts in this thread were 7-5; non-gloomington vs gloomington.

And only the first two discussed Indiana State...

Any people wonder WHY we draw ~4,000 to a MBB game...

Would Lunardi still be getting drilled in this thread if he had Indiana State in for this bracket?

It doesn't look like he's getting "drilled" all that much. Reading the posts in this thread it doesn't look like anyone is all that worked up.

What's a little frustrating, but understandable, is that our conf tourn win is still considered an upset.

And I have to admit that WSU looked real good in the NIT.

As I said before, what CU and WSU accomplished in the post season has overshadowed our conference tournament run somewhat. I think it means we won't get as much recognition going into next season, but I don't care all that much. I'm just anxious to see what the team can accomplish with these nice run of confidence.

Yes. It's stupid to try and predict brackets in April. Besides, most of the discussion has centered around him including IU. That's a laugher whether he puts us in or not...

I would agree that these mock selections this time of year are crap. Hell, they've proven to be crap in February as well. I hope even Lunardi would admit to not taking them too seriously. Just a general idea of preseason expectations and predictions.

That's how it works with these guys though. They're smart and Einsteins if they have your or my team in his field. They're complete idiots and meaningless if they don't.

On a side note, I'm really hoping the Valley can finally get back to multibids next year. I think there's 3 legitimate frontrunners that can get the job done, 1 of them being the Sycamores.
