Congrats to John Sherman, Ron P. and everyone else involved for a great time this evening. The rec center is a great venue, and it was good to showcase it for the people who hadn't been there before. Lots of giveaways and products offered by local merchants...............well done. Good practice for the future.

Agreed...only two complaints however.

1. Why was we watching a CBS channel out of Indy? Had to love the big ad supporting Butler right before the selection show

2. Where was all the MVC CHampionship gear at???

I was wanting to buy Championship shirt also, I think they missed an opprotunity to sell alot.

Megan Mckenna was the main organizer of the event...she did a great job

I would assume the lack of merch was on Pacesetter. I heard they would be there to sell stuff. Did they have a table there at all?

They did.. All the same stuff that is at Hulman center...
Should have had some championship gear, and replica jerseys...

Without a doubt. An absolute blunder on their part. This is where the bookstore should have stepped up IMO. You can get that sort of gear at other college bookstores.

Doesn't make alot of sense...but, with the problems getting ahold of ISU merch in the first place...it isn't surprising, sad but true

People are estimating over 1,000... I'd say that is accurate.
ISU did it up right.
Most of the athletic administration was just getting back from St. Charles too... It's been a LONG weekend for the Athletics department and Athletics foundation.... but they did it all VERY WELL.

The lack of the championship merchandise is about the ONLY complaint I heard from fans. If they would have had a couple of nice champ shirts selling for around $12-15 each they would probably have sold over 200 or more yesterday alone.

On the way out I saw some chick walking around in an Indiana University sweatshirt. :naughty::eek7: What a disgrace.

Overall though it was a great atmosphere and can't wait to do it again next year.

I seen her and asked her what seed she thought her beloved Hoosiers would get..lol...She replied "I have no clue about basketball. I just wore this one because it said Indiana and I don't have a ISU shirt. I gave her directions to the Pacesetters stand and even offered to BUY her a ISU shirt..lol....Her reply was thanks but they don't have pink ones. I had no respectable comeback without slapping her. Hey I tried!

Was she a student? If so, she needs expelled.

kudos to indiana state....the athletic department, namely megan mckenna.....

for the job done in putting together the selection party at the rec center.....

i was there at the event....got to town a little early and had a chance to peek in at practice sunday afternoon before the selection party.....talked to coach lansing for a second or two...and then headed on over to the rec center...

it was my first time in the building.....very, very, very nice.....right where the tennis courts used to be i believe....very nice set up....

the selection party itself was handled very, very well.....sycamore hats off to megan, john sherman, ron prettyman and everybody else for a job well done.....

the standing ovation for coach lansing and the team was great....as was the ovation when ron prettyman was introduced.....it was outstanding the way the local audience showed their appreciation and respect for the coaches, the team and ron......

the only thing i would have changed or added was the video from the indy tv stations last week of larry bird talking about the team....it would have been fun to see the crowd's reaction to larry discussing the team...and the look on his face when doing that....

but i thought that the highlight videos that they did show were very good........

did anybody here know that they were webstreaming the event last night...supposedly over 2,000 people found the site and were viewing the party over the internet....very, very nice.....

and it was good to see channel 6 and channel 59 there......i think channel 13 and channel 8 got their footage from the terre haute stations....i didnt see anybody there from those stations, but i might have missed them.......

i hung around for about an hour after the party started to break up...and then drove back home to indy.....but it was a fun time......
