The Starter Level
A good friend and ISU supporter is getting me a season ticket for this seasons home games. Due to travel distance I won't be able to attend but say 5 to 6 games. Interested in hearing from those of u that go to most of the games in reference to which games u think will be the most spirited and best games. Haven't been connected for a number of years so also interested in the current teams that are considered rivalries etc.
Thanks for your thoughts and input!

With the exception of the Ball State game, you may want to wait till the conference games. We play Belmont on Dec. 28th, this could be a really good game to see with Belmont having a solid program of late (six NCAA appearances since 2006), but since it's over the holiday break, the atmosphere will be lacking with students out of town. The exception to this would be if we're undefeated when we play them.

Conference-wise, here's what I'd choose...

MSU Jan. 15th (ESPN3 will be broadcasting this game)
WSU Feb. 5th (obvious reasons)
Evansville Feb. 19th (our only in-state rival, ESPN3)
UNI March 1st. (senior night)

And maybe Bradley Jan. 11th

(and no, it's not lost on me that I'm saying all of this as a guy who won't be attending any games at Hulman Center this season)

What's the word on Alfie & UCLA? Any positive vibes in L.A., or the typical Hollywood posturing?

That's a great question, there's a lot of wait and see for the Alford situation. It's been fun to see him on the news on local tv stations. But yeah, there's no question there's a new buzz within the city (at least among UCLA fans) with Alford taking over. But the buzz is soaked in skepticism...people want to give him a chance, but they also want immediate results.
