here's a list of the ISU track & field recruits for men & women, and how they're doing now that it's tournament time.

For the men:

Chris Hanson (Mt. Vernon, Fortville) was 2nd in the Mt. Vernon sectional in 1:58.57

Justin Applegate (Martinsville) was 2nd in the discuss throw (168-10") at the Bloomington North sectional.

Austen Barnes (FW Homestead) won the 400 (49.24) & was on the winning 4 * 400 meter relay (3:23.57) at a Ft. Wayne sectional

Leo Cordova (Richmond) won the 100 (10.82), 200 (22.91) & was on the winning 4 * 100 meter relay team at their sectional meet, he automatically qualified for the state meet at IU with his 100 meter time.

Drew Gambill (Shakamak) won the 800 (2:01.58) & 1600 (4:26.33) at the THN sectional Thursday, advances to the regional next week.

Max Tuttle (Bloomington North) won the 110 meter high hurdles (14.54), 300 meter low hurdles (38.08), was on the winning 4 * 400 meter relay team, & on the 2nd place 4 * 100 meter relay team in the Bloomington North sectional. His winning times in the 110 hurdles & 300 meter hurdles automatically qualify him for the state meet at IU in 2 weeks.

Brad Adams from Ohio has run 1:54.26 for 800 meters & has the 3rd fastest time in the state of Ohio this season. His best ever is 1:53.83. Competes at the Ohio state meet the 1st weekend in June.

Shaun Smith from Vincennes University & THN is competing at the Junior College National meet out in Kansas this weekend. Link for live results:

Keenan Johnson from Princeton HS won the 100 (11.15), 200 (22.23) & 400 (50.33) at the Princeton sectional, competes in the regional meet this next week.

Greggmar Swift, (hurdles) St. Leonard's Boys School, Barbados, has also signed with ISU

For the women:

Shelby Higginbottom (North Central-Farmersburg) was 2nd in the 800 (2:18.07) & won the long jump (16-2.50") at the THN sectional last week, she'll compete in regional action this next week.

Kelly Steffen (Bloomington, Ill HS) is competing this weekend in the state meet in Illinois. She has advanced in the 100 meter hurdles (15.20), long jump (17-11.5"), high jump (5-01"), and triple jump (37-3.25")

for the Indiana kids, the regional meets are next week, then the state meet is at IU on June 4th & 5th.
 
Shaun Smith ran on the Vincennes Univ. 4 * 100 meter relay team (41.91) (didn't advance to the finals), & 11.19 in the 100 meter dash prelims of the Junior College national meet last night, not advancing to the finals today.

ISU recruits Kelly Steffen from Bloomington, Ill HS & Amy Fanella (Huntley HS) competed today in the Illinois State hs meet.

Steffen's results:

long jump - 3rd place 18-00.5"

high jump - 2nd place 5-04"

triple jump - 2nd place 38-03.5"

100 meter hurdles - 2nd place 14.67

pretty good results, looks like ISU has itself a multi-event girl to replace Erica Moore in 2010-2011.

Fanella was 12th in the triple jump (36-04)

ISU recruit Shelby Higginbottom placed 3rd in the 800 (2:16.48) & 1st in the Long Jump (17-05.5") at the Evansville Regional last night. She'll be competing at the state meet in both events at IU next weekend.

from last night's boys regionals:

in Evansville, ISU recruits won 4 events

Keenan Johnson won the 200 (22.27) & 400 (48.38), while Drew Gambill won the 800 (1:55.41) & the 1600 (4:26.10).

in Ft. Wayne Austen Barnes won the 400 (48.94) & was on the 3rd place 4 * 400 meter relay team (3:20.04)

Still waiting on results from the other regionals, and 2 were postponed until tonight.

over in Connersville, Leo Cordova was 2nd in the 100 (10.94), 1st in the 200 (22.08) and was on the 2nd place 4 * 100 relay (42.68)
 
ISU recruit Brad Adams (from Ohio) qualified for the Ohio state meet June 4-5. His 4 * 800 meter relay team ran 7:56.43 to make the state meet. Still looking for the open 800 to see if Brad qualified in that event also.

looks like the Ohio Regional meets are going on this weekend.

ISU recruit Justin Applegate (Martinsville) was 2nd (175-00") in the discuss in the Bloomington regional.

ISU recruit Chris Hanson (Mt. Vernon, Fortville) was 4th in the North Central regional in the 800 (1:53.77).

ISU recruit & Bloomington North's Max Tuttle set 2 school records in winning the 110 meter hurdles (14.22) and the 300 meter hurdles (37.49) at the Bloomington regional last night. Max will also be competing for Bloomington North on their 4 * 400 meter (3:23.16) & 4 * 100 meter relay (43.47) teams, both of which qualified for the state meet

Folks, the state track meet is June 4th & 5th at IU, if you're looking for good high school sports to watch, then travel to Bloomington & take in the meet!

The Indiana girls state meet is Friday June 4th, here are the ISU women's recruits from the state of Indiana & the events they'll be competing in on Friday.

Another ISU recruit at State Finals

Conor Strain from Northview high school (Brazil, Indiana) will be running crosscounty and track next year at ISU. He also qualified for the state meet. He finished 2nd in the 1600 (4:27) and 3200 (9:52) at the Terre Haute sectional. Then finished 2nd in the 1600 (4:30) at the Evansville Regional.

a couple other girls to add to this thread, from Plainfield: Morgan Ford & Courtney Erlenbaugh.

Ford made the state meet in the shot put & discus. She placed 8th in the discus today. Erlenbaugh didn't make the state meet I believe. She is a sprinter.

the THN 3200 meter relay team with McFadden & Jones placed 17th in that event with a 9:41.61 time

the (known) ISU women's recruits & how they did in last night's IHSAA girls state track meet in Bloomington. Weather was very warm & humid, not good racing conditions.

Shelby Higginbottom (North Central-Farmersburg) - 800 meters & long jump (4th place in long jump (17-10.5") & 9th place in the 800 (2:17.70)

Valerie Burns (Penn HS) - did not qualify

Britanny Housel (Columbus East High School) - 100 meter hurdles, 300 meter hurdles (3rd in 300 meter hurdles (44.59) & 12th in the 100 meter hurdles (15.14))

from the Ohio state boys track meet this weekend. ISU recruit Brad Adams was on the 2nd place 4 * 800 meter relay team (7:58.41) and was 2nd place in the open 800 in 1:52.64, which is his best time ever. Pretty good recruit from Ohio coming to ISU

Indiana state meet results from the boys meet. Results for known recruits coming to ISU

Max Tuttle (Bloomington North) - 1st place in the 300 meter hurdles (37.74), 6th place in the 110 meter hurdles (14.53), on the 19th place BN 4 * 400 meter relay team (3:24.62), and finally on the 17th place BN 4 * 100 meter relay team (43.59)

new* add Ray Skamay (Lowell HS) to the ISU recruit list. Ray was 2nd in the 300 meter hurdles (38.12) & was on the 4th place 4 * 400 meter relay team (3:17.73) from Lowell

Drew Gambill (Shakamak) 3rd place in the 1600 meter run (4:12.48) and 21st in the 800 (2:00.26)

Justin Applegate (Martinsville) 3rd place in the discus (174-09")

Chris Hanson (Mt. Vernon, Fortville) 8th place in the 800 (1:54.72)
