ESPN Matchup Predictor has us at 35/65 dogs.
Sounds about right. I'll be shocked if we win this one. They're 4-2 at home (vs D1 opposition), and beat Drake by 3 on New Year's in Springfield. On the road they are pretty awful at 2-5 on the season, so we should beat them here when we play them again. We're 4-2 on the road so far, but I don't think trips to Springfield have usually been too kind to us in the past.

I don't think they are as locked in defensively as others but pretty athletic. Not sure how good their shooting is? Hopefully the refs will allow us to defend without calling a foul every possession and we can get back to OUR offensive flow as well.

Welp this just turned into a must win with Bradley, Murray, and Drake waiting for us

Watched them last night vs Illinois State and probably 3-4 times on the year. Very undisciplined but very athletic.

I've always like Clay but he is still inconsistent. Really like Mogbo and Moore, too. I feel like this is going to be a very up and down the floor type of game as they're not big fans of locking in and grinding on defense, either.

Only thing is we just never really play well in Springfield.

Honestly I think the key is when we get a big lead can we hold on and not get stagnant? Also we have to keep them off the glass.

MSU is a pretty good defensive team overall, and that's probably attributed to their athleticism. They're good at the "athletic" defensive metrics like TO%, defensive rebounding, blocking shots and steals. Offensively, they're a three point shooting team that is very good at offensive rebounding. This is not a Prim-led MSU team any longer; they don't bang you too much in the paint and they really don't get to the line much.

I actually kind of like how we matchup with them with the exception of their propensity to block shots and their offensive rebounding prowess. We've been getting our shots blocked all year, so that's not new. We will definitely have to find a way to crash the boards in this game, though.

Keeping a lead is a huge problem with this team for some reason. Our coaches really need to figure this out soon. We've led late in some of our losses but even squandered leads in our wins too. Very troubling.

Talent drop off down the bench. I feel like this will (or should) improve as the roster iterates over the next couple years.

Kind of an interesting development out of Springfield. Their 3* redshirt freshman Jonathon Dunn is no longer with the team and is entering the transfer portal. Never saw action this year, but a 6'7" kid with offers from Mizzou and Texas Tech out of high school seems likes a pretty big loss long term.

So often we are ahead so we haven't seen it much, but I also don't feel good about our chances anytime we get behind...even by 5 points. I can't imagine if roles were reversed last night that we would have reacted well being down 15.

I don't get good defense team from them when I watch them at all.

I was digging into their MVC-only numbers and they do matchup similarly to us in several categories.

Hopefully the players put last night's game behind them, LEARN FROM IT, stay positive and move their focus to MSU. The sky isn't falling yet. Long way to go guys!!

I don’t get the sense they’re a good defensive team either, but I think their analytics are getting propped up by the blocks, steals and things like that. They otherwise give up decently-high shooting percentages.

Clay and Mogbo. Got to get one of those two into foul trouble.
