Wow, he's such a douche. Showing his true colors. He only wants 120 division 1 teams. I'm with you Jason, the minute that happens is the minute I find something else to do with my time.

The good news is a lot of us could see through his bullshit. I've called him out about being a power program shill and at least he is finally wearing it. He has some good ideas sometimes but this is not one of them.

I also like how he loves to place the blame on the NCAA but his profession and networks are just as complicit for where we're at today -- televising AAU and high school basketball on TV, spending insane amounts of money for media rights to specific conferences, etc. There is plenty of blame to go around.

So he basically wants to turn college basketball into college football where only the super-elite have all of the power. He completely dismisses any school below the 120-or-so mark. That makes sense...those schools outside of the P5 don't matter to him. Why should he care?

Bottom line is he is going to go to the grave with the pay players bullshit and as I've said since the beginning, you don't legislate for the 1%. His solution is to remove 66% so only the top third is left and you'll still have great separation as it will just naturally reoccur between the programs left.

I also loved the fact that "contraction" will mean the player pool will magically be spread less thinly. As if those non-120 schools just close up shop and don't exist any longer.

Many are so worried about what the P5 will do in football (me too), but the truth is that separation is really already a done deal. Except for a few money games for lower FBS schools and us FCS'ers they are already a separate "league". Where they are still struggling to separate is in Div I basketball -- they are almost desperate to find a way to cut the mid-majors out as much as possible. No home & home series, strict limit on at-large bids for NCAA, limit TV expousure (wonder why ISU vs IU is not on regular Big Ten Network tonight ? ? ?), bad seeding,on and on.
Their plan is creeping along -- because of the success of mid-majors in March Madness and the love the public has for that they have to move slowly. But that is where the real danger lies in my opinion. Keep throwing out ideas like the one here ...over and over again in different forms, continue the things I mentioned above and we'll wake up one day with that "Super College League" in football AND basketball .....today's tough situations for mid-majors like ISU will look like glory days compared to where we may find ourselves in 10 -- 12 years.
In my opinion (I've said this before) the mid-major leaders (AD's / coaches / Presidents / fans / alumni) need to stand up now before its too late -- right now they act like they'd better play along or the Big Boys will take their ball and go home ....well the Big Boys have already called Uber about a ride.
Right now, the mid-majors could enjoy widespread support if they make a stand ---- continue waiting and just taking what the Big Boys will give you ....
.......? ? ?
Ever given in to a bully ...how'd that work out ? ? ?
Time to go "Ralphie" (A Christmas Story) on those guys ! ! !

It is time the mid-majors, and truthfully some of the high majors, join together and start to do on thier own what the P5 will never do. They need to sand up, take pride in what ahd who they are and become college basketball--and all other sports too. They need to realign conferences, establish rivalries and generate pride in our programs with pride. Don't wair to see what the P5 is willing to give us for being nearly totally silent whiners. As for the Sycamores, there is no better time or place to continue to develop that profile than tonight in Bloomington.

How exactly would he pick the top 120? enrollment? RPI? Maybe there are a few too many D1 teams, but not over 200. C'mon man!

I'm positive you knew he was a raging case of the Clap before this story, right? BilASS became a douche the moment he signed his NLI for dook u. Name me a dook mbb alumni who ISN'T a douche....

What truly scares the P 5 schools are games like last night's ass-kicking... Mid-majors are far more likely to compete head to head in MBB than football
