John Higgins retiring from on-court officiating

John Higgins, who has officiated nine Kentucky games, including the 2011 National Championship vs. UConn, is retiring to take another role.

Training refs… He and his boy Pollard. Thank god the next generation of officials will be just as bad as the past and present.

Actually I think Higgins is a really solid official. Pollard not so much - but Pollard think he’s really good and has his own officiating school. So he’s embarrassing.

Agreed. I think Higgins was actually decent, but Pollard is a nightmare.

When Higgins made a mistake I always considered it just that - a mistake. Not so with Pollard - he had an agenda.

I’m still annoyed by Bret Smith and the lady ref with SIU home game this year. Really changed that game and the beginning of the bad stretch.

I wish my boy Zelton Steed could still get a game or two in the HC. He and I always got along... Never had an official interact with me as much during an actual game as him. So funny.
