Landon Curry--Focused Freshman With Senior Skill Sets

Nice to have an early lineup threat...opens the door to "small ball" if the big bats aren't making much noise. Curious...where is Hileman playing since losing his CF position?

Hileman has seen only two at-bats in conference play...so he's not playing in conference games...at least for the first six games. Overall, he's had 50 at-bats, which is about 40% of what the full-timers have. Hileman started in center for the first couple of weeks. Since then, he's been a late-game replacement in CF...has seen time in right and even in left for one game. He dh'd one game, too. Right now, in 50 at-bats, his average is .220.

Was there THAT much difference in the talent level of Curry & Hileman, or has Hileman simply lost his competitive spirit? Gotta give credit where due though, as he did get a crucial single in the extra-inning Chicago win the other day. Must be a real bummer to lose your starting position.
