I live in the DFW area, and I was listening to The Chris Arnold Show, which is a sports talk show. He had Larry Fitzgerald on, and he talked quite a bit about playing at Indiana State. He mentioned he liked playin defense, but coach Harp made him move to the O line. He went on to say he did not like that move at all.

So you're not talking about his Larry Fitzgerald then.

That is junior...senior ( his father) played at state

Aha...

So this Larry Fitzgerald: "Fitzgerald's father, Larry Fitzgerald Sr., is a sportswriter for the Minnesota Spokesman-Recorder. When he covered Super Bowl XLIII, he was believed to be the first reporter to cover his own son in a Super Bowl."

Jeez, how many times do I need to mention this in a thread...lol....

YES!!!! Larry Fitzgerald Sr. is the father of Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald Jr.

Senior played offensive tackle at Indiana State in the late 1970s. He was a pretty good one too.

And, yes, he still holds a grudge that Coach Harp moved him to offensive tackle. Harp made the move because of injuries at the position and they needed his athleticism there.

Larry Sr., though, thinks to this day that if Harp had left him at defensive tackle that he would have been drafted by the NFL. He was big and athletic and that might have happened. Think Warren Sapp body and quickness playing offensive tackle. That was Larry Sr.

I talk to Larry Sr. about once or twice a year. I ran into him at the last two Super Bowls that I covered.
