Remember him growing up in Gary, Indiana during the 50's and 60's. Sorry to hear as he was an excellent DJ and knew his audience and the times.
 
Ya, I recall visiting my sister/bros-in law living in LaPorte during that era. They listened to WLS all-night & morning before going to work @ Seabord Finance (later AVCO). Neat station...

When cars just had AM (Amplitude Modulation) communication.....and you lived in Souttwestern Indiana....WLS was one your primary punch settings on your car radio.

Larry Lujack (if that was his real name) is already missed......
