Lathan out till tournament

KMac said at the luncheon today that Dwayne Lathan broke two fingers last night, and they hope to have him back by the MVC tournament. Why does this happen to us??? :verysad::verysad::verysad::verysad:

If we lose Marshall for any amount of games, and having already lost Jake and Dwayne....is there any other college team out there this year or ever, that lost their THREE BEST players due to injury in a given season?

I was worried he'd re-injured himself, but I didn't expect a new injury. And he was only on the floor for two minutes. What bad luck.

At least it will give his ankle time to heal without questioning every game whether he's ready or not. If we have him at 100% come tournament time that would be great. Let's hope his fingers heal quickly. Now, if we lose Harry over these next several game...put a nail it.
 
Small consolation is it's on his left hand...I had to hold off on divulging out of respect for my bro. It's a shame...no news on Harry yet (for me anyway).

Yeah I think it might really be - you figure that he had been struggling back from injury the way it was, this team was not going to win a conference championship this year anyway. It would also appear that we can avoid the play in game without Lathan, assuming that Harry is healthy and we keep playing good ball.

This will give Lathan some extra time to rest those injuries he already had, no reason for him to rush back. St. Louis is way more important than any of this regular season stuff anyway. It is what it is, hopefully he comes back stronger in a month or so.

But LOL to you guys acting like the season or the world has come to an end (I know, I know I did the same thing after Kelly got hurt) but I learned my lesson. No 1 man makes a team, they have recovered pretty well from the Kelly injury and Lathan has not been a factor for the last moth. WHO CARES...

Get well soon Lathan, we need you back buddy!
 
ouch....kelly, lathan, now marshall that hurts...Does this bring up the pulling of the JO redshirt or does reed take over the point?

I would really hope the Coach doesn't pull the redshirt on Odum. It will be difficult to replace Harry and Dwayne on the court, that's no question, but having Odum lose an entire year of eligibility for 6 conference games, the BracketBuster against Green Bay and the Valley tourney would be a horrible decision in my opinion.
 
I'm thinking that AC gets the tap and Reed is the point. Only 6 valley games left, plus the Bracket Buster game, then the tourney. Really bad luck for us. Reminds me of the ISU Women's team last year. But, I doubt they'll put in one of the Redshirts, the season is too far along, don't you think?

Though I did notice one of the Eitel twins' in last night's box score...

No -- 7 reg season games isn't enough to pull a scholie red-shirt

If one of the Eitel twins was in the box score it was an error. He did not play. He was also noted in a box score at a game earlier in the year but did not appear?

It is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay to late to take off a redshirt. You just have to gather the horses that are left and go on a mission. Would not be surprised to see this bunch of guys pull it together and surprise all of us.

this is just un-freakin'-believable! I think we're obviously looking at playing on Thursday now in St. Louis, however, having said that, maybe we'll have Lathan and Marshall back at 100% and can make a run.

I just can not believe the bad luck this team has had this season, just when things were looking so good. I mean really, THREE starters lost??!!
