I read that as well. I somewhat expected it but one thing I am pleased with, that he stayed with it until he had some measured success with the team. This year's surprising team is totally on his shoulders and I hope he gets the credit he deserves. Larry is so fricking competitive that that I am sure he wanted to leave on his terms and wanted them to be on top or at least getting there. NOBODY thought this team would end up with the 5th best record in the NBA and a 3 seed in the east. I wish him the best, as i am sure we all do but I had hoped he would stay one more year. I am hoping that Herb might change his mind though.

Considering Larrys' need for privacy I'm amazed he's stayed in the spotlight for as long as he has.He may disappear from public view forever,he doesn't need the money and doesn't really have anything to prove to anybody.Hate to see him leave though,he knows what good basketball is when he sees it.

He'd already stuck around one year longer than he planned to. He fixed the mess that Artest created while under his watch, and did so as a feeling of obligation. He's earned the right to move on. The team is much better thanks to his patience. He didn't always have the best drafts and FA moves, at least not until of late, but things paid off thanks to his perseverance.

Sad to see him go if this is true. I'd like to see him go out with an NBA title as an executive. Hopefully the new guy can continue the success and continue to build an NBA title contending team.

Well they are the 3 seed...I remember a three seed a year ago making some noise in a tournament no one expected them to win....

Wouldn't it be FANtastic if he would become an assistant to the Sycamore b'ball team like Mel Daniels under Coach Bob King. Unfortunately, I'm afraid we might as well wish with hand and crap in the other hand.

IF LB were going to come coach at State, it would have been before he took the Pacers front office job; think how EASY recruiting would be!

LB may or may not leave the Pacers but when he does, the odds of him coming to The Haute to be an assistant... microscopic
