The Varsity Level
Was looking at webs of some teams we play this year and saw at UC's website about their expansion of facilities for football program. If you have never been to their existing facilities alot of D1 schools would love to have what they already have but they are getting more. They are adding a 100 yard field and a 50 yard field. And according to the website to help them be "more competive", because all teams in the big east have indoor facilities, the 100 yard field will be able to be covered with a "blow up" structure for use during the late fall and winter months. After reading through several discussions about this on their site and other blogs the recurrent theme is that the school is committed to excellance in athletics as well as education. They state that they want to provide the best to all students and for athletics it means provideing the best to get the best. Just some thoughts for discussion.

Cincinnati. They've been pretty inconsistent athletically. Good in football now, were good in basketball at one time. I'm more interested in the teams we can/should beat. That first game against St. Joseph, I want to see the new offensive weapons put at least 30 points on the board. I want to see a convincing victory, not a nailbiter like we had and lost against Quincy last season. When we play Quincy again, I also want a convincing victory. We need solid, big wins in those games to prove the program is on the upswing and a team to be respected.

I think the major importance is to give someone in the MVFC a serious tail-kicking...I mean a beatdown...a bad beatdown with a 20-30 point win....

On a side note....Cinci was good at basketball due to their complete lack of ethics and disregard for NCAA rules. They were good at Football, but we shall see what happens down the road with that too. Ethics are of issue at Cincy and have been, from my perspective for years and years.

I do agree that we need to really beat a team! Show we can do it

I'm hoping for that of course, but first things first. Let's take care of the small schools that we're supposed to beat and stay healthy and competitive against Cincy, then we can worry about the MVC.

Oops. Just realized we play WIU before Quincy, so forget what I said about waiting on worrying about the MVC. That's definitely a winnable game given that we beat them last year (granted it was at home). It's nice that we get a two week break after Cincy to rest up before WIU. After WIU we get three at home in a row, which is also nice.

Indy Star article

Have you read the article in today's Star's sports section about the football player from Westfield. Headline article about Reuben Greene. Very positive about his approach as a walk-on to ISU.

True for about as long as I can remember anything about the school.
