Lunardi's Bracketology

I just saw the latest bracketology from Joe Lunardi and he has us in the "NEXT FOUR OUT" group. The "FIRST FOUR OUT" group includes BYU, Iowa State, Washington and Alabama. We are in that next four out group with Texas A&M, Xavier and La Salle. Good to know we are still near the conversation. If we rattle off several wins in a row here we may very well play ourselves right back into the conversation. The best way to do this is to take it ONE GAME AT A TIME. Each game will be very important and we need to treat each team like they could END OUR SEASON. I truly believe this team is capable of making a run to play our way into a "lock", but we can't keep having poor stretches of play in games.....we aren't good enough to overcome those against quality teams.

I just want a win tomorrow. I havent seen the line but we should be underdogs. Illinois State is very talented and is capable of taking down anyone. If we take a game by game approach then come late Feb. we'll hopefully be having a conversation about a pontential tourney birth.

Good news is, we are still in the conversation! I know two things about the bracket.

1. Quickest way out of the conversation is to lose.

2. Only way to stay in the comversation is to win.

I think our only loss we are allowed is at Wichita state...any other loss the rest of the way kills our "bubble hopes".....I still think our best bet is to win the tournament.

Illinois State is our biggest game of the year, then thursday we can think about our next biggest game of the year in Northern Iowa. Oh yea, then our next biggest game of the year is Wichita State next wednesday...........

I hate to be a downer, but let's not start this again. Remember what happened in football! Let the team prove itself and the tournament will take care of itself.
