Instead of the Mountain West/Missouri Valley Challenge, how about a Missouri Valley/West Coast Conference Challenge?

Gonzaga, St. Mary's, BYU, Loyola Marymount, Portland, San Diego, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Pepperdine, Pacific

Regardless of the feasibility of this, on the surface there would be some good match ups.

This idea has merit or so it seems. There are quality teams in the WCC, and the idea of traveling there could help recruiting--playing Gonzaga instead of Truman State has recruiting value.

For many of the MVC schools matchups with the MAC would make sense -- I still don't understand why the mid-major schools don't get together in some type of meeting, convention ---- online or in person and get this whole scheduling mess resolved. We all understand the IU's, Notre Dame's and Ohio State's are not coming to ISU or Ill. State or Bowling Green. We all want a couple of games against the big boys -- that has to come at their place or in the these early tournaments in Alaska, Hawaii, Florida, etc. We all want a couple of games against the little guys at our place we know we can beat. Most of us have a couple of "traditional" games or rivals (ISU vs Ball St). That leaves all these Mid-major schools standing around looking for the other 3 - 4 pre-conference games -- we want to play against decent teams to build our resume if we win, we want to play someone our fans at least recognize -- Hell this ain't rocket science ! ! ! For example ISU plays at Kent State and Eastern Kentucky and Miami of Ohio and Central Michigan come to Terre Haute -- the next year its simply reversed. The whole "need home games" issue is resolved. In the general midwest area of ISU there must be 15 - 20 schools of similiar size and level of play -- all of whom scramble around every year looking for decent opponents who will play "home & home". The anwer is starring all these schools right in the face ! It would probably take 7 - 10 years to work your way through the schools in the midwest using this simple idea.
Come On --- UCLA and Michigan State are NOT coming to Terre Haute ................and they are not going to Akron or Bowling Green either !
