7-5 Final...DBO out.

Kendall Rodgers is projecting DBU to make the field of 64. Today may not be the last time they play being associated with the MVC.
I don’t think DBU should be in the field of 64 after a sub par conference season and play the last couple of weeks. But the RPI and non-conference slate may get them in.

SIU and Missouri State will play for the championship tomorrow. Kudos to MSU for coming out of the play in game. SIU needs to win two to claim the title.

Who is Kendall Rogers? Sounds like a biased Texas baseball lobbyist. DBU has NO BUSINESS "stealing" an at-large berth from a more deserving NCAA squad this season. DBU was just plastered 21-2 by an above average - good UE squad on a neutral field. Give us a break, KR...look @ the overall product.

Kendall Rodgers is a notable college baseball writer. I do disagree with him on DBU, they played themselves out of an at-large position with their conference performance. If SIU doesn’t win today, they should be an at-large but their RPI/SOS isn’t great on the resume.

I just Googled Rogers...Texas A & M alum and D1 Baseball writer. I've read some of their stuff, but never subscribed.

Re: DBU (and all teams in the South), they feed EARLY season off of the RPI, then "coast" downward in late season as cold weather schools get "tuned up." Ultimately, there's a built in BIAS to this "back rubbing," yet near season end, they clearly benefit from GEOGRAPHY alone in securing at-large bids. The NCAA needs to figure out an algorithmic formula that neutralizes this inherent geographic bias according to 1) school and 2) conference.

They need to figure out a way to weigh conference games, non-conference weekend series, and mid-week games. Most schools in baseball play regional opponents in the non-con / Mid-week, so if all of the schools around you suck that year, your RPI suffers. Everyone knows that beating the ranked #3 team on Wednesday isn't nearly as significant as beating the ranked #3 team on Friday night, because everyone plays their lesser pitchers during the mid-week game.
