I know many of you have a more intimate knowledge of the college campuses within the Missouri Valley Conference than I do. Indiana state has made some tremendous improvements to their campus over the last 10 years and many more are to come in the near future. Assuming the planned improvements at Indiana State happen, how do you rate the Missouri Valley members campuses as far as being beautiful, and having a nice ambiance? Basically wondering which which schools are able to recruit better based on the campus facilities? Rank them order. I am only familiar with a few campuses and I put Loyola at the top. I think in 2 years ISU will be very near the top. I real college feel.

I can't really rank them because I've only been to many for the game and did not tour it extensively. I know from talking to people that Loyola has a big leg up in recruiting when it comes to selling their campus and the Chicago nightlife. I too believe ISU has done a GREAT job transforming campus in the last ten years. I stepped on campus in fall 2007 and it looks nothing like it did then. When I work my summer job now I end up on campus a ton.. So i've gotten the chance to see the in and outs of the newer buildings....It's night and day from ten years ago. Now if they could just make the HC match the rest of ISU they really would have something cooking!

Doesn't even look remotely the same as it did in the fall of 84 when I started. They've done a great job.

During my senior year, 1971-72, I was editor of the Sycamore yearbook. The theme behind the book was that the campus needed more green space to go with the buildings, which for the most part are attractive. I am sure this had little to do with the beautification of the campus because the transition started much later. That said, now that we finally are working toward a river campus to compliment the main campus, we have a very attractive campus. I wish something could be done to the looks of the library, but we have to live with that. Think how nice the southeast corner would look if Hulman Center actually goes through renovation!

Having ran track I've been to several of them. The only campus in Missouri Valley that I haven't been to is Loyola and Valpo. I am sure Indiana State campus is not the only one that has changed drastically since I've been to all of those places so really hard for me to say.

I think the one thing that I've always liked about Indiana State campus compared to other college campuses that I've been on is the layout. Everything on Indiana State campus is in reasonable walking distance and that's not always the case on some campuses and it's not because they are drastically bigger than ISU.

The universities development and downtown Terre Haute have happened in unison which is really great to see. If we see that same level of collaboration with the riverfront development things will continue to improve!

Regardless of how we stack up I think we've got a lot to be proud of. Always room for improvement and the Hulman Center is priority #1 on that list - keep working at it!!

Always have trouble starting a new thread on here. Saw where ISU signed Qidayr Davis from Louisiana Tech today. Seems like he must have knee troubles as he was injured last two years. The youtube of him looked really good though.

My time at ISU (2009-2013) was amazing to see all of the development on both campus and downtown area! Unfortunately since i've left I haven't been able to get a nice tour of campus so I can't speak much about the last 3-4 years. This summer I'll be in The Haute with the fiance' and i'll be sure to take a few hours and show her my old stomping ground. I personally love our campus and the proximity of all of the buildings, downtown, and the river. Terre Haute has the potential to be a very cool college town if we ever get some of the major developments done (hulman center and riverscape). But I enjoyed my time in Terre Haute and every single friend that visited me from Purdue, Butler, IU, Ball State have always said that they loved coming to ISU and had a good time during visit.

I've been to a few MVC campus's because of track but i've never toured any of them to give a review of it or rank it. I will say though that Valpo has a decent small campus near the downtown area of Valparaiso (about the same distance as ISU and Terre Haute). The buildings are spaced pretty far apart so there is room for expansion in the future. They definitely need to renovate some buildings but for the most part they are all decent. The must see building on campus is the Chapel and you need to go into it if you are ever there. The "ARC" is basically a slightly nicer high school gymnasium, but it does have a cool atmosphere when full (it doesn't take much to fill it). I'd like to think that Valpo will renovate soon to get it on par with the MVC's facilities. Downtown Valparaiso is a VERY nice pedestrian friendly area, a lot of places to eat, shops, stores, etc. The whole surrounding area is rather affluent and has the potential to be a pretty cool college town.

I started here in the fall of 1964. You talk about change! All I can say is WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW! In August of 1967 I married and moved to an apartment in Edgewood Grove. Pretty nice area then, just as it is today.
