Interesting that he thinks adding games like we did Vandy this year is a "mistake", talks about adding opponents with a high RPI but doesn't like the idea of MVC teams going on the road to play "major" schools. I see what he's saying - but you don't think that playing Purdue this year in Conseco helped us in St. Louis? I tend to believe that it did - the team wasn't afraid of anything and I think it had a lot to do with our difficult (mostly on the road) non-conference schedule last year. So if you don't win those games then yeah it probably hurts your chances of getting an at-large bid, but just ask MSU those things aren't a sure thing for a mid major - I don't personally believe that mid majors should focus on at-large bids at all. The should focus on A. Being above .500 B. Winning the post season and C. Winning the regular season no obviously it's a bit difficult to justify winning the league not being goal #1. However winning the league doesn't guarantee you of anything other than not having to play in the play-in game. Which being over .500 also assures you avoiding (most of the time) - once you get to St. Louis it's a clean slate it really is. The 1 seed might have an easy road - but they are seldom a lock to win it all.
