It PAINS me to say this...but go Wichita State. I still maintain that Wichita is NOT a state, though.

You don't like Sir Charles' political commentary? :) Boy is he getting fat...he & Magic must be on the same diet!

Missouri State @ Wichita State....beats watching the NBA All-Star game!

Funny. When you don't watch ESPN for a week (due to the Colts loss) it's easy to miss the fact that it's the NBA all-star weekend. Did they still do the dunk contest and what not last night? I've been enjoying the Olympics myself.

I know the dunk contest and stuff was last night but have no clue who won it or was even in it....for me the NBA these days is a "only if nothing else is on tv" option.

Isn't it kinda upseting to see teams like UNI,SIU,WSU and others from the MVC and other mid majors playing on ESPN with a packed house or atleast a packed lower section? That could/should be us

ahh, always nice to see the ray of sunshine that is bankshot

nothing else different between the two schools/cities?
nothing else different in terre haute over the last 30 years?

witchita, kansas has roughly 350,000 people living there compared to the 60,000 here in terre That may help with higher attendance.

Eddie,

Keep the sack over your head...you'll be happier, since you obviously have trouble dealing with REALITY.:krazy:

Maybe it's just me but I don't think has anything to do with population or recent success...we just don't have the fan support peroid plus half the games WTWO airs is home games.

Win...and they'll return! Nobody likes to be identified with LOSING...simple fact of life.
Thirty years of mediocrity has eroded the once cherished TRADITION of ISU hoop. It'll take repeated seasons of WINNING to restore. Given the competition in today's market, it'll be a challenge!

i've always said that reality is over-rated

so we know why i'm happy (apparently its sack-over-head related...i dont really care as long as i am happy), but why are you so sad?

my point is that there are reasons beyond basketball that one gym is full and the other is not. can you think of any other differences in terre haute between now and 30 years ago?

sure it helps to win, and we are heading that way i think
but to get back to filling the hulman center with 10,000 like the bird days may take more than good basketball.

LOL - Because I look at things CRITICALLY you think it predisposes my psyche to "sadness?"

We've previously discussed this issue at length on multiple occasions. Various marketing schemes have been presented, demographic analysis presented, et al. The bottom line is WINNING. Very simple.

By the way...we had trouble FILLING HC even when Bird played. This has also been previously discussed.
