MVC Media Day Central: Brenton Scott Named Preseason All-MVC First Team

Indiana State junior Brenton Scott has been named to the Preseason All-Missouri Valley Conference First Team as the Sycamores have been picked to finish sixth in the conference race. The preseason polls were announced this morning (Oct. 25) as part of the annual MVC Media Day held at the St. Louis City Center Hotel near the Scottrade Center. The Valley's Preseason Poll is conducted by a vote of the league's head coaches, sports information directors and a media panel.

Call me pessimistic or call me a dick, but the first page of this media guide looks like a high school poster from the 90's.

Fortunately, the quality of basketball on the court has nothing to do with the quality of the graphic design in the media guide.

I still think we are better than 6th. Seems like we have done more with less in years past.

Congrats' Brenton !! He is the motor on this team and looking for a great year. Pre-season ratings have not been very accurate for ISU Blue in the past.

Eh, I can kind of see 6th. WSU, Illinois State and UNI seem to be pretty clearly the top-3 in terms of talent, and MSU, us and SIU are in that next middle-tier. I can see on paper how MSU was picked ahead of us, but I don't see a realistic scenario where SIU finishes ahead of us. With Beane graduating, I just don't see enough talent at SIU. But, that's why this is preseason and nobody's opinion really matters.
