I just got finished writing down everyone's schedules this season in my notebook. There's a lot of pitiful games on everyone's schedules, but there's several interesting games that I'm also looking forward to.

Bradley @ South Dakota State (N-9)- If I remember right SDSU beat BU in Peoria last season. I hope the Bunnies beat them again on the first day of the basketball season.

Vermont @ UNI (N-11)- Vermont is usually really good, so that's an early test for the Panthers.

Murray St @ Illinois State (N-16)- The Jailbirds are picked last in the MVC and the Racers are picked 3rd in the OVC. I think I will be pulling for MSU.

UNI @ Arkansas (N-17)- Arkansas just went to the Elite 8, so this is another good test for them. An upset here and UNI could be on the road to an at-large bid.

Drake @ Belmont (N-25)- Preseason MVC favorite vs preseason OVC favorite and future MVC member. Might be the best non-con game in the MVC this season.

Evansville @ EIU (N-28)- Wouldn't it just be hilarious if ol' Marty Simmons could get a win against his old team? 😆

Loyola @ DePaul (D-4)- Crosstown Chicago game. Hopefully Loyola doesn't embarrass themselves.

BYU @ Missouri State (D-4)- Good get for Da Bears.

Evansville @ SEMO (D-8)- SEMO might actually win this one!

SIU @ Tulsa (D-11)- An old MVC game.

Illinois State @ Chicago State (D-11)- Only reason this is on here is because I just found it amazing that they are actually playing at CSU. The Jailbirds almost lost to them a few years ago, so don't put it past them to embarrass themselves.

ISU @ NDSU (D13)- I hope this goes a lot better than yesterday's football game.

SDSU @ MSU (D15)- The Jackrabbits usually have a decent team and this is another good game for the Bears.

There's also some tournaments, but I don't remember the teams involved. Do any of these other MVC Non-con games interest any of you including ones I didn't mention?

I don’t disagree at all. Very solid ball club, potentially a team that could play in the 2nd weekend of the tourney.
But the way they changed the “formula” for determining NCAA teams, it’s still best to beat a power 5, even if that power 5 is par at best.
IMO St. Bonaventure will endure a loss or two in the conference that the committee will view as a “concern”. Then you’ll have a 12 loss power 5 team “earn” their way onto the bubble for beating a top 25 power 5 team. It’s all about the money

Drake plays Clemson, Loyola plays Michigan State at Atlantis. Loyola also plays Vandy.
At the end of the day, the committee doesn’t care about “bracket buster” type games. You gotta beat the power five and have no bad losses

It’s more about quad 1 and 2 wins. And avoiding bad losses. A lot of the power conference teams will fill up 1 & 2 quads but plenty of mid majors will be sprinkled in there. Hopefully the mvc teams can pick up some big wins to raise the their NET rankings.

See post #99. Where the MVC can get two or three teams into the March Madness this year is having a bunch of quality wins in these MTE's. If the MVC as a whole, can win just half of their games in contests against P5 schools, or win half of these tournaments, it's going to be a great year for the MVC in post season play.

Northern Iowa goes to st bontaventure. That’s gonna be a huge game for the panthers if they can win.
I was just looking at the preseason AP Top 25 and saw where SBU was #23. I didn't realize they were ranked, but I have to agree. That's a big game that I overlooked.

Buy stock in the bonnies. I saw where it was the first time they’ve been ranked since the early 1970s. They should be legit barring something weird happening. If northern Iowa wins it will be a game that gets talked about all year if the panthers find themselves near the bubble.

IMO the committee will not allow, … I mean, the “data” will show that the Missouri Valley will not justify 3 bids.
But I’ll be surprised if the Valley doesn’t get two in this year. One or two really good teams will get the shaft
