I have a Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) meet at IUPUI Friday and Saturday. I would love to make the trip to Wichita following my meet on Saturday to watch my sisters final track meet for the Sycamores - I would be crazy to make that drive that late on Saturday. That said, if she makes the 800 final I might just do it!

Richelle Kimble tied for 2nd in the women's pole vault, ISU women are in 4th place now

Tara Perigo was 8th in the women's javelin

the 10k's have been moved to an hour later, so 9pm and 9:45pm Indiana time.

the men's javelin is underway

Jordan Colanese was 9th in the men's javelin, missing a scoring spot by about 5 feet, he did have a pretty good series though.

the women's 10k is up next in 5 minutes

Jessica Zangmeister just finished 7th in the women's 10k to pick up 2 points for ISU

men's 10k is next

Craig Padgett and Al Escalera go 1-2 in the men's 10k! I am almost sure ISU has never done that, 18 huge points for the men!

the women's heptathlon is over, ISU's Kelly Steffen fouled on her javelin throw, so got no points, but recovered to do well in the 800 and wound up 5th overall. Had she scored points in the javelin she'd have been 3rd. Also scoring for ISU was Patricia Merrion, placing 7th

updating the meet now, in the men's decathlon Robert Webb was 6th for ISU with 6608 points.

for the women, in the Shot Put, Felisha Johnson and Mary Theisen were 3rd and 4th for ISU

and for the men, in the high jump it was another 1-2 finish for ISU as Major Clay and Jonathon Christensen go 1-2 for 18 more huge points for ISU!

after 5 scored events ISU still leads 49-46 over WSU. WSU tried to score all the points in the decathlon and nearly did.

the women are in 4th after 6 events, 11 behind ILS and 8 ahead of UNI

in the women's long jump ISU picks up bonus points from Kelly Steffen and Jaquelle Spencer, as they place 4th and 5th with very good jumps, might even be PR's for both of them. Steffen went 19-2.5 while Spencer went 18-11.75

after 7 events ISU is in 4th, only 6.5 points behind Illinois State!

Stacia Weatherford with a NEAR ISU school record in heat 1 of the women's 100 meter hurdles, running 13.90, I think Erica Moore has the record at 13.88. Edit, Weatherford is now #2 all time at ISU, she has the 4th fastest time in the preliminaries.

She was 2nd, advancing to the finals

Sarah Snapp placed 5th in 14.72 in heat 2, she will not advance to the finals

notes from the ISU site about the decathlon and heptathlon

http://www.gosycamores.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_LANG=C&ATCLID=205426890&DB_OEM_ID=15200

the 2 long jumpers for the women were #8 and #11 all time at ISU

Duane Brown 3rd in heat 1 of the men's 110 meter high hurdle trials, 14.35, he should advance to the finals.

in heat 2 Greggmar Swift with a wind aided PR of 13.62 to win EASILY

Both Brown and Swift advance to the finals for ISU, WSU had a guy get DQ'd for false starting, so that helps ISU

in the women's 400 meter run trials, Macey Black advances to the final for ISU, run and advance folks!

in the men's 400 Kevin Piraino advances for ISU, going 48.82

first mishap for ISU today as Jaquelle Spencer false starts in the women's 100, she's out

men's 100

heat 1 ISU's Justin Baxtron runs 10.50, fastest time in the MVC this season, I think these 100 times are wind aided.

heat 2 Devin Price runs 10.82 and was 3rd, so we'll see if he advances. Top 2 from each heat advance, plus next 2 fastest

heat 3 Leo Cordova did not run for ISU for some reason

Devin Price did not advance, he needed a 10.74

up now, women's 800

in heat 1 of the women's 800 ISU's Shelby Higginbottom was 3rd in 2:16.02, they're taking the winner plus the next 4 fastest times from the preliminaries

heat 2 ISU's Leann Michl wins in 2:09.35, she advances

heat 3 ISU's Kaci Smith was 3rd in 2:13.53

heat 4 Kristy Twitchell was 5th in 2:16.42 and will not advance

Kaci Smith get the last qualifying spot, so ISU sends two women to the 800 finals
