MVC and Summit (Mid-Continent) schools have always had a shoe into the MVFC (Gateway) since the conference was established. Making it official is fine, as long as it includes both the MVC and Summit, but I wouldn't mind seeing a clause that states that the schools have to be from the Midwest to skip the normal voting process. Otherwise we may be seeing trips to Utah, Texas, and/or Colorado in the near future.

So, if the Summit adds Tarleton State or Weber State, we get the privilege of adding those road trips to our budget, a budget that is apparently not opting into rev sharing year one?

The best time to make certain decisions was 20 years ago. The second best time is the present. The worst time is when it's too late.
Per Todd Golden and some FOIA digging, ISU did surreptitiously try to go non-scholly in the early 2000's and bungled it royally as certain admins had no idea what they were doing when it came to the numbers....shocking.

Back when Jacksonville dropped football, one of the things they mentioned was it wasn't getting cheaper to travel in the PFL. "It ain't ever getting cheaper to travel to San Diego." Widening the footprint in today's landscape shows you these fucktards are completely asleep at the wheel.

In my view the name of the MVFC should be changed back to the Gateway. They changed the name the year NDSU and SDSU were invited, and at the time I thought it might be the first step towards eventually integrating those schools into the Missouri Valley across the board. Clearly that has not been the case.

I also view this agreement as a direct result of the public schools allowing the private schools to walk all over them when it comes to realignment decisions. Three of the last four recent additions have been non-football schools, and getting Murray State into the league was like pulling teeth. Since we don't have enough football teams in the conference (MVC) we now have to depend on the Summit League schools for stability and an AQ. Our private school peers are certainly not going to do us any favors, and allow us to add a school to the MVC to help our football numbers any.

The Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) President's Council has approved a new governance structure that recognizes the strong partnership between key multi-sport conferences and positions the league for continued success as the dominant conference in the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (FCS).

This agreement places Jeff Jackson as the commissioner of the MVFC. Jackson has served as Commissioner of the Missouri Valley Conference (the all-sport league for five MVFC members) since July 1, 2021. The agreement further places Josh Fenton as the Executive Advisor for the MVFC. Fenton has served as Commissioner of The Summit League (the all-sport league for four MVFC members) since April of 2023.

This change comes in preparation for the retirement of MVFC commissioner Patty Viverito on June 30, 2025. Viverito has been the league's only commissioner, serving in that capacity for 40 years. Jackson will assume his duties as MVFC Commissioner on July 1, 2025.

Oh good, Jeff Jackson will be burdened by additional duties with the MVFC.

Hey, let's all just be grateful that "Sycamorefan96" was able to push through all of HIS policy directives or just THINK of the state of the MVC/MVFC/Summit/OVC LoveFest aka EIU Orgy today!

If I had been Commissioner of the MVFC I would have pushed for it to become an all-sports conference a long time ago. It just makes more sense long term to have a conference full of state schools than a mixed one of state and private schools with conflicting interests.

I suppose if we're stuck in the MVC with the private schools, then having a commissioner who will now get to see first hand how great MVFC Football is, is a massive plus. I assume this opens the door for a "#12" to replace Missouri State in the MVC to be a state school with scholarship football and get automatic entry into the MVFC.

The MVC vs. MVFC is not a private/public school issue; other than your choice of trying to make it so. It's about football and especially the NON-Revenue football that is NCAA Div I-FCS.

There are plenty of state schools across the country who could participate in NCAA Div I-FCS football BUT are wise enough to not burn stacks of ca$h chasing that bad dream.

With all of the changes occuring across college, you need accept that eventually MORE football programs will shutter and MORE colleges with/without football will shutter.
