MVFC Pillow-fight of the century???

Looking a few weeks ahead. Barring a miracle it looks like an 0-9 Western Illinois team will come into Terre Haute and take on an 0-9 Indiana State team. Any historians on here? What are the two worst records (at the time of the game) to face off in MVFC / Gateway history? This has to be in the running right?

According to a Bison fan on AGS this would be a new conference record for the two worst records facing off against each other. Supposedly there also has never been a case where the two worst teams in the MVFC/GFC finished 1-10 and 0-11.

The only way either record doesn't happen is if we beat Youngstown State, who believe it or not has had a hard time figuring out our very complex offense in recent years.

In 2009 both ISU and WIU finished 1-10 on the season. Our only win was against them. Their only win was against Sam Houston St. to start the year. That win for us ended the nation's longest losing streak.

Looks like their last MVFC victory was 38-31 over Illinois State on October 30, 2021. Since then they haven't won a single game (conference or non-conference) and they are on a 22 game losing streak. It's honestly sad how far that once great program has fallen.

ISU had an interception wiped away because of obvious defensive holding that wasn't necessary. So far both teams look pretty even.

Oh well we stopped them for 2 straight three and outs and got a great return by Caton to about where it would have been.

Just gave up a deep pass for a 79 yard TD for the Leathernecks. Second time we've been beat deep today, but the pass was overthrown the first time. PAT doinked off of the left upright and it's 6-0 WIU.

TD Sycamores!!! Finally went deep and somehow Van Dyne caught a 37 yard TD. I thought it was incomplete at first.

They announced Chambers during the pregame Senior ceremony, so I think this may be his final year at ISU. Owens is definitely the future of the program in my opinion.
