I was there....watched from the sidelines.....and if anybody wants to know the difference between North Dakota State and Indiana State, all they had to do was to look as the size of their offensive line compared to the size of ISU's defensive line....they were huge....the Sycamores were small.....so it didn't really surprise me that they ran as often as they did...they just, as Bill Polian likes to say, "roadgraded" the defensive line out of the way....

And before anybody thinks that I am making bad comments about the ISU defensive linemen, I am not....they were young and smaller....North Dakota State's offensive line was huge and had, I think, three seniors.....

as one of the former ISU players that I was watching the game with said, it was men against boys......and the men, of course, won the battle.....now when ISU's defensive linemen get more mature and continue to grow...and beef up.....that won't be a problem anymore.....

also, I thought that the Sycamores played hard and they tried....but some of them didn't have that fire that they had for the Western Illinois game....why, I don't know.....the coaches can get them prepared mentally...knowing what to expect when the game starts....

but its up to each player to be prepared in terms of being ready to play emotionally.......and, for some reason, they weren't.....the players need that onto themselves and don't expect the coaches to have to fire them up.....

As for recruiting, I know that they had a good group of recruits on hand at the game and in the locker room afterwards....

I met with Dan Millington and Antoine Brown after the game....class guys.....they have both agreed to be a part of our Indiana State Football Alumni group.....

so now the second season begins....recruiting.....high school kids, juco players and hopefully some Division I transfers......can't wait to get started!!!!!

You forgot to mention the LBs in the "size differential" as well as the difference between our offensive line and their defensive line. Two of our DLs were upperclassmen, and one of the other two actually needs to drop a few (or change the location of a few). With Burke, and possibly Duke coming back next year, I would almost think about moving Geffert back to the D Line. We had a ton of potential recruits come to the games, but I only saw a few that passed the "look test" as possible D1 linemen. We don't need a ton of them, but 3 or 4 that project to 300+ on large frames would be nice. The good thing is we had way more Freshmen redshirt this year than in the past several years--that is a start. The lines, offensive playmakers, and a QB--top priorities. Go Sycamores!
