So when AD's hire a search firm & pay a ridiculous fee to do their job for them does the school usually deduct the amount from the AD's annual salary and does the search firm give a refund if things don't work out? From what I am reading there may not be any so-called "Elite" coaches out there willing to work for that particular AD even with that big bank account.

Lots of folks in B'town would probably donate to his buyout if NC State would take him. He served the purpose down there when they were in need of restructuring but he is definitely not the answer now. Too much Nerdy Clappy & not enough coach. Still find it hard to believe how little he got out of them at tourney time when he had TWO 1ST ROUND NBA DRAFTPICKS in his staring lineup.

Why is it surprising? He's a recruiter, not a coach.

Yes Dwayne Wade was his shining moment but must admit it got him one hell of a gig in B'town about 10 years ago now I think.
